We have an open CPS case. My husband abuses drugs. He keeps on relapsing and when we went to court last time about a week ago. He got caught in a lie and the judge gave him 30 days and if he didn't get his act together, she said he has to leave the home. His reply was , where am I going to live and she threatened to take the children away from him. Does that mean if he refuses to leave , do I lose my children?
I don't need to be judged, if you do, move along, plz.

I will not judge, however when one part of a couple uses drugs, there was at least enabling going on, if not drug use for the other partner...please seek help WITH him to prevent the relapses.
Yes, they can remove your children, you are there to protect them, if you fail to do this, then you are neglecting them, putting them in harms way... |

If you allow him to stay, then yes, you take a chance on loosing your children. Your husband has to make a chose. Drugs or his family. And if he keeps relapsing, then he needs more help than you can provide. Sometimes, it takes tough love to make a drug abuser see things in a different light. Your children are your #1 concern. Be strong and do what you have to, to protect them from possibly becoming drug abusers also. Good luck |
