1. Technically still married but fully separated with all assets split and everything decided, clarified and laid out exactly as if they are divorced. All of the document filed in court are exactly the same as Divorce Papers. All that needs to happens is for the Documents to be processed as a Final Divorce Filing. That is exactly my situation now. So I am (sort of married - actually still married by law, just legally and permanently separated.) and kinda available for marriage. All I have to do is take the final step of filing for a Final Divorce Decree.

2. People living Common-Law (cohabiting together for over six months) are considered legally married for all practical purposes - except they have not taken out a marriage licence, have not been married through a marriage ceremony and have not taken vows.
