If you were my husband, would you be mad at me?

If you were my husband, would you be mad at me?

Yesterday, I fell and chipped a tooth. Furious with pain and bleeding, I shoved our children at my husband and left in our one working car. We don't have dental insurance so now we have 120 dentist bill. (they took pity on the fact that we have no insurance.) On the way home, I someone managed to blow the engine on our one working car. Today I got a notice from our bank that I had overdrawn our account by $80 because a bill I had paid hadn't cleared for 8 days, and the bank said we had available balance. I bought diaper, formula, sugar, and soda. Of course I can't return this stuff we;ve used over the past 8 days. I've lost us thousands of dollars in 48 hours. If you were my husband, would you be pissed? I didn't do it on purpose...

It's thousands of dollars because we now need either a new engine, or a new car.

Well it is all rather overwhelming, but there is no reason for him to be upset with you unless you're taking your frustrations out on him. He's not actually upset with you right?

The tooth isn't your fault.

The car....I seriously doubt YOU were the one that blew the engine unless you were supposed to put oil/water in it and didn't. Most likely the car was ready to die and you just happen to be the one to drive it that day.

The bank...well that was kind of silly. The available balance is never the available balance. Do you have banking software like Quicken or Money? I'd recommend that you start tracking your purchases directly instead of just calling the bank. Those NSFs are a nightmare.

When it rains it pours. Sorry you're going through all of this. It will get better!

You didn't intentionally chip your tooth, you didn't intentionally blow your engine, and sometimes you overdraw the account.

Stuff happens. Times are tough. He'll be ok.

I would be upset but try not to take it out on you. All the same, you can expect some elevated stress. If your husband gets mad at you, don't allow yourself to feel like the victim. But a soft answer might be appropriate.

No, I'd be mad at myself for having a wife and kids and not having the means to support them.

umm i dont see how thats thousands of dollars.

EDIT: Well IF your husband is the only one bringing in the income (not saying he is...just if) then I can see why he could be upset...maybe the stress of trying to pay for all this is getting to him.

Everyone makes mistakes. I have done the same thing before not meaning to overdraw our account. I might be mad for a few minutes but once you explained what happened, I'd get over it and just say we will get it worked out somehow. Ruining your marriage over a mistake or having a huge blowout fight isn't worth it over money.

ONE TRUE GOD
more mad at the situations then you. but it would cause a bit of anger

what are you
No sweetpea i would love you to death . Most woman would get mad at the man for not having everything for them that and cheat on them . You sound like a great woman to me

I would be a tad ticked and want to put a pencil in my eye.

But life must go on. If i got angry about something that would solve nothing. Again as a MAN who loves his wife I would just deal with it. We are a team.

Kitty
no, i would feel bad.

WOWZA!
No. Those are all things that were not your fault. Did you TRY to chip your tooth? Did you mean to blow the engine? I mean the bank thing could be your fault but I mean when it rains it pours....If my boyfriend did this. I wouldn't be mad at him, just wondering what karma I was paying back.

I would laugh. SH*T happens. If it is not one thing its another. Everything will work out. In 10 years you two will look back and really get a big laugh out of this. Everything will work out and stop stressing. Everyone has a day like that. You are blessed with family and kids. Smile, do the best you can and money is not everything(it helps). Just remember this when he screws up real bad. Marriage is a give and take thing. I hope the rest of your day goes better.

No, I wouldn't be mad. Accidents happen, it's not like you purposely broke your tooth. I doubt that it was your fault that the engine blew in the car. It was bad luck that it happened while you were driving it. The only thing that was in your control was the bounced check, it was just an oversight. Everyone makes mistakes, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I can understand a spouse being frustrated with the situation but I don't think they should be blaming the other for a series of unfortunate incidents.

im the boss : )
i think he would feel bad i had a shltty day, lol.

you were all jumbled becasue you chipped your freaking tooth and accidently overdew the account.....oops. shlt happens

My car was impounded because I run a shop for 11 hours a day and I have not had a chance to renew my license, which my husband was aware of. I went through a check point and they impounded the vehicle. To top it off I had the wrong number to tow company (webs mistake) I did however get the correct number in the end. It will cost 175 dollars to get it out. My question is would you mad if you were my husband?
