unfortunately sometimes men hide who they really are. u pick yourself up dust yourself off, and go find someone of your choosing no more arranged by someone else. so does he still get the dowry if he abandoned u?

1. forget about him romantically he is the stereotypical man thaT all indian woman need to revolt against.
2. get started on the divorce proceedings
3. if you already gave the dowry then collect the receipts of the stuff and lodge a complaint against him and his family in woman's cell
4. dont think of yourself as a victim while i cant understand the pain you must be going through i do think its better if you move on the same thing happened to my step mom with her first husband and she didnt do anything about it . she regrets that to this day cause they found another girl after her and tortured her the same way. so plzz play your part in woman's liberation make sure they dont do that to someone else....

First find out a job for yourself, it gives u financial freedom.
be calm for some days no arguments.Give him time to think and realise. Finally if he realises its o.k, if not have a final talk and decide whether you can continue with him.

been there, done that. If he's demanding dowry, u can file a case against him. if he deserted u, u can file a case against him. u can even file a case if he's cheating on u. U can, and should, if u have ample proof. He married u for the $. Didn't he know dowry's illegal, didn't ur parents know? I didn't know dowry was illegal until the marriage was over, or the marriage never would've taken place. Dowry has its purpose, but it's due to cases like ours and worse, that it has been outlawed by the indian govt. Look into it before any $ exchanges hands. U dint want to get in trouble for giving him any $. Move on, and fight for justice. If u are in the right, u will prevail. I did as I'm suggesting and so far, I've prevailed. Sure, my folks lost a lot of $, but the case got dismissed due to his failure to show. So it's a win to me. As far as us being free of each other, I have yet to hear anything, but he wont get any compensation, so that 's good. I was 29 when married, we had a 4 mo. courtship, we talked at least one hr per week. It went on like this after marriage too, for six months. Then I went to visit, n after two mo. he let me go. But during our two months together, he'd always tell me he didn't want me. He said he married me for the $. There are many divorcees getting remarried now, so don't fret. Take a good pic, put some nice things about u in a profile, and put urself on a matrimonial site. I'm sure u'll find someone suitable for u. If ur a traditional south indian girl from an orthodox family, I'm sure there will be plenty of guys willing to marry u. I hear that's what they all want. My case is a bit different, because I'm a disabled, indian woman of US Origin from a moderate orthodox family. Good luck, my heart goes out to u.

File a dowry case against him, and if possible try to prove it. Throw him out of your life, he is cancer/aids to your life. He is worthless. Dont get married till the case is settled and at the same time dont allow him to get married by giving divorce. If he does that get him jailed.

talk with your parents first about the situation because it was their decision to get married thrn ask your husband his plan for the future with and if he doesnt care anymore just hold on continue moving own. anyway youre still young and has still time to be happy without your husband.
