My secretary/friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer and we offered her to live move into our apartment during her treatment, so she won't have to be alone and we can keep an eye on her. There's just one thing that keeps bothering me:
My husband lost his first wife and his daughter to leukemia a few years ago, that's why I've been giving this extra special thought before asking him to accept my friend moving in with us. He said he was gonna be fine and I was happy about it but I feel really guilty to confront him with this since he's not at all over his daughter, yet. On the other hand, my friend means a lot to me, she's been there when my husband passed away 7 years ago and she kept things going for me and my girl, so I HAVE to do this for her for my own sake.
What should I do, I don't wanna like patronize either of them but I want to be there for them so I guess this is gonna be hard, isn't it? I'm terrified right now..

I hope this wasn't too confusing, my first husband passed away, this is my second marriage.

You have a very special relationship and, I'm sure you are proud of it and happy about it. Your husband seems to be a very mature man would do any and everything to make you happy. The only advice I could suggest to you is, whenever your friend moves in, be sure that you don't overlook your husband and his needs. Even though you have needs that your husband should continue to care for, he is making a gigantic sacrifice for you (because its your friend). I think you all will be just fine. |

You may be making a mountain out of a molehill. It may be hard for him on one hand but on the other, a chance to do something to help her get through this and to offer support to another person fighting a disease like this. I think were I your husband I would be glad to help in memory of those I lost in trying to prevent another death or to make life bearable for your secretary. I hope she gets past this!! |

when she moves in, your husband is going to fall in love with her,becuase he is gonna feel the same feeling he had when his wife was dying. she is going to feel his love be cuz a woman can feel this from a man. but don't listen to me , my wife has me watching chick movies all the time. |

Actually he has been through this before is a good thing, he will be better equipped to handle it, just let him know if you start this you have to finish it as well. |

As u know breast cancer is not as bad as leukemia.. so dont worry about ur friend i hope she gets her health back
and as u said ur husband said he will be fine! u should remember he will never forget the death of his wife and daughter, wether ur friend is living with you or not! they will be always on his mind
so take good care of ur friend meanwhile try to be fun around ur husband so he wont feel bad |
