it is never a good idea to go back into the past and try to make amends to someone, just what do u expect to happen here if u did this? i would leave this alone because your married now, and this other man is in your past. contacting him could only bring him back into your life.

A VERY BAD IDEA.He dose not need a ring that no other woman should wear and will only make it harder for him to move on you say it is irrelevant how can you be so insensitive I would not want my man getting your letter and ring it would bring up issues that do not need to be brought up.And what dose Your husband think or is that irrelevant also.Sounds like you just want to stir up old feelings not caring who you hurt

that sounds like something I would do, even though I totally think its the wrong thing to do. Men are not sentimental like women and he does not want the ring. Leave it alone. Your letter will mean nothing to him.

I don't see any harm in it, f...

1. You're not doing it in spite, or bitterness or to re-open any old wounds (for him and yourself) and
2. You think that, no matter whether he replies or not, it wont rekindle a long lost spark and result in you leaving your husband

Otherwise, I think it'd be great and way interesting to find out what he's up to xD I get along with my ex as well (to a point) and nothing bad has come of it.

Have the ring cleaned nice and give it to someone as a gift or sell it if it is worth anything. You can also keep it around in case of emergency and you need to pawn it for some cash. It sounds like you still have feelings for your ex and you wish you could still be with him. Reason I say this is because if you didn't, you would not take the time to even think about a letter or the ring.
