in high school - You should have your parents address this to principle and have it documented & placed in teachers employment file.
in college - you maybe old enough to tell him this makes you uncomfortable and demand he not call you any pet name and you can then go to deans office to have if reported and place in his employment file.
If you like it and respect the teacher pump the breaks! its not worth his career your reputation b/c some girls have crushes on teachers and the teacher is flattered by this and may get side tracked by the attention. In other words. Stay in line and keep him in line. If this is the case. Be Safe! |

Maybe he calls everyone baby. A lot of people call other people baby.
Maybe he was actually insulting you. Maybe he was calling you immature and that you were acting like a baby.
Maybe he was flirting.

He probably didn't intend for it to sound that way. Most likely he was just joking around. If he does it again tell him not to. If he does it after that kick him in the groin and walk away.
P.S. If you do kick him video tape it and put it on youtube. That would be funny as hell.

It may have just been a slip of the tongue. I always call my fiance babe, and accidentally called my dad babe more than once. If it happens on a more regular basis, and he seems to really mean it, than I would take it seriously. If not, I would just excuse it as a slip of the tongue. |

well he shouldnt say it but it depends on how he said it. Like for instance I call a lot of kids baby but they are really young and I am a mom. If you are a teenager its kind of wierd especially since he is a male. He needs to be really careful because he needs to be more professional because it can be interpreted badly. If you have a feeling though that he is saying it in another context that isnt innocent then I think you should tell him you dont like it or talk to someone like your parents about it. Be careful though! It could be an honest mistake of him but follow your gut! |

Well alot of people talk like that to everyone. Well not guys to guys.
Like me for example. I say hunny, baby, babygirl/boy, sweetie stuff like that. I wouldn't get too excited about it.

no...i have a bio teacher who i've known since i was 15. he would never call me that and would never give me a grade i didnt deserve. I am an adult and would not be happy if he did that. |

Well sometimes people especially those from the south say "honey, baby, sweetie" it really just depends. If it makes u uncomfortable u should talk 2 the teacher about it... if u start noticing that he is failing u out of retaliation then u need 2 report it right away 2 the principal. |

Without knowing the situation in which this teacher said this to you, it's hard to tell.
Typically, teachers should avoid being so casual with a student. If this really makes you uncomfortable, then it isn't okay. Please tell a trusted adult, like your school counselor, nurse, dean.
Just by speaking up, you might be the voice for someone else who is afraid to speak for themselves. |

be careful because it sounds like he's slowly trying to groom you into an unprofessional relationship. the fact that he calls you baby is highly inappropriate. I'd be watchful around him and give him no indication that you have any interest in being chummy with him. |

My hair stylist calls me "honey" and "babe" and I barely know her. I'm a guy by the way. Also, the VP of my school is really old and married and he calls girls "baby" sometimes...It's not TOO weird I suppose. |
