The judge hears those kind of stupid things all day long. Don't stoop to her level by laughing. If you laugh the judge will get mad. Trust me you want the judge on your side. I know it's frustrating but just stay calm and quiet. Good Luck. |

It all depends on the judge and the mood he/she is in.
I laughed at the audacity my ex thought was 'logic', and then immediately caught myself. The judge over my hearing seemed pretty grumpy, but ended up being pretty 'nice'.
Not good if they think you're being flippant, but they can be understanding too. If at all possible, just keep your composure and it will turn out better for you. Your ex won't need your help at all in making an a$$ out of herself and the judge will see it for what it is. |

You can safely laugh if (and ONLY if) you've made the judge laugh too. I was giving testimony in a case about a year ago and I broke the entire courtroom up with one of my stories, but I wasn't initally going for laughter...it was a fortunate consequence. Mostly, you should dress presentably, remain courteous and respectful no matter what is said, and keep displays of your emotions extremely close to your chest. Good luck. |

I hear you. Custody battles are always the worse and the mean parent because there is always one... They always forget that the children are the ones that suffer.
I would only tell you to keep your cool and always have an attorney.. And make sure that when ever you talk to her on the phone keep the conversation clean, so that there is nothing on used against you.

well if it's an uncontrollable laughter then i don't think you should, u should try to contain it as long as you can, but if it;s a little smirk, or giggle, then sure why not, i d think that the judge will penalize you for laughing! |

When in Court session - you should be the picture of perfection.
Don't show any sign of disrespect - or the Judge may think your wife has valid reason for her case.
Just let your wife plea her case. If it is ridiculous - the Judge will recognize it pretty-quickly. Most Judges knows most tricks in the Court Room.

Don't worry I had a case when I was on a jury that makes your case really seem bogus. Laugh and enjoy your life but try not to wind up in jail |

LOL that is funny, my cousin did that at his trial, he was found not guilty but he had to do 15 days for being in contempt of court or someing like that i am not sure but he got it for laughing while one of the witnesses was testifing either way I dont think its a good idea to do it, but hey its your life and how many more times are you goig to get to go to court |
