Is it possible to go through life without ever falling in love?

I'm 19, just finished my first year of university and i've never had a serious relationship or been in love. For the first few years of highschool I had a few different boys that took me on dates, and I've had a few hook ups unfortunately, but I've never ever been in a relationship. I've never looked, or tried to find a boyfriend because I never thought it should be a priority so I focused more on school and sports, and I thought that everyone eventually fell in love and that it was inevitable and so I didnt have to try, but now I'm scared that I'll never fall in love. Should I start looking/lowering my standards? Because I feel that the problem is that I can never find a guy that I'm interested in, and when I do he doesn't like me. Or should I just keep waiting, because I am a pretty, smart, athletic, funny girl, so it has to happen for me eventually right?

You need to be proactive. Join a campus organization so you can find someone who has common interests. There are all kinds of groups at most colleges. Pick one or two where you should find guys who care about the same things that you do whether it's the environment, religion, science, art, etc. Don't lower your standards, but put some thought into what you are looking for in a guy. You might also explore the possibility that you have a commitment problem. If you think you do, seek out an advisor on campus that you can talk to for help.

Red Shoe's Diary
I'm the same way, minus the random hook ups.
Please do not lower your standards though, that's sad.
You will eventually find someone, just give it time, you have your whole life ahead of you.

pleaz wait, you will someday get him let FIND YOU, and if you are all that an a bag of chips then pleaz dont lower your standards for anyone, be your best so you can have the best, anyone can have a bum (sort of speaking) but its harder to get a good man or great woman YOU ARE YOUNG you got a lot of years and i hope the RIGHT MAN comes along for you

these things dont happen by luck or a spurt in the air... you choose to fall in love with a person and therefore can choose to fall out of love. As you say, you have been more focused on other things and hence havent looked for relationships... at this age you're more likely to find tripping stones that will lead you to the person you may want to spend the rest of your life with...
dont rush it! you've done it well by dating and keeping options open... once he comes around, or someone that interests you for a serious relationship you'll know and you will want to take things further

Mad black women
I never end up with anyone until I was 21.
You will find the right someone! Just go out and talk to people, and just be sweet and not a player

Oh please, why are you even bothering? Most (around 98%) don't find the one they'll settle with until they're about thirty. Until then, it's 'sleep with everyone you meet' and do 'whatever you want.' After wards, these same 'people' wonder why 1. neither can stay faithful to the other 2. why their marriage fell apart within 0-5 years.

Don't be like the rest of these mindless drones. You'll find someone, and very likely, without even looking. Everyone does. You probably think this is a load of bollocks reading this now, but read this same post ten years from now.

Remember: you have a choice, these idiots don't.
