I have a friend who has two wives, and those wives also "have" eachother. They think that 3 is the perfect number for them. They're not mormon, they just love eachother.

If you have them all at one time it is too many. More than one over a lifetime is okay, as long as you divorce the first one before marrying a second one.

It all depends on your individual beliefs and religion.
According to my beliefs it's absolutely unacceptable to have more than one spouse at a time.

If you are talking about marrying someone and then divorcing them and marrying another person- that is also against what I believe in, I believe when I get married I'm making a promise to God that this is the person I'm going to spend my time with the rest of my life.

But if thats not how you feel, it's okay.
I'm just giving my opinion :)

Too Many? Biblically you have to have one wife and one wife only. You make your vows to her not to other women too. Paligimists believe in more than one wife, but that is a whole different world, a community that you dont see ever. Then there are Mormons who seal themselves to other women and say they will populate there own planet when they die with these women, My uncle is a mormon. But seriously, why would you want two wives. That is gross. Would you like her to have 2 husbands
