No. You change it yourself. You go to social security and change it there. Then you change your driver's license. You may need to change your checks at the bank. Anywhere you need to. Or you can keep your name. Or do his last name and yours with a slash mark.

You have the right to take your husband's name, or keep your own maiden name, or hyphenate the two names together.

You do not need to change your name at the Registry (of births, deaths, and marriages), but you DO need to contact and notify everybody to let them know your name has changed (for driver's licence, car registration, insurance, doctor, dentist, employer, etc).

When u sign papers, you have the option of keeping your own or taking ur man's name. Should you decide to change, you need to notify ur social security office, and DMV to change those documents.

No. You have to get a certified copy of your marriage certificate (from the town/city clerk's office) and present it to the DMV to get your drivers license changed, and the social security office as well. Sometimes credit card companies require this as well. It's important to change with the social security office, as when you get older, you want your benefits from your maiden name to be effective when you try to collect with your married name.

Here in California there was a new law pasted on Jaunary 1, 2009. You Must change your name at he time you sign for your marriage license. What name you sign is your new married name and you can not change it after you sign it without a judges permission.
