Sorry to dispute the previous advice but...

I have recently worked on a federally-funded initiative dealing with domestic violence and child maltreatment. The misconception is that battterers need anger management. Anger is just a symptom not the root of the problem. You need to take your friend to a batterer intervention program or BIP. I know there is an excellent program in Atlanta. www.menstoppingviolence.org. Check it out. It also has a friend mentoring program that seems to be what you are seeking. Best of luck to both of you.

There's a cure alright and that is 10 big muscular guys beating the sh*t out of him so he gets a glimpse of how it feels. In the old days they used to tie women beaters to the back of a horse and let the horse run all around town, through all sorts of surfaces, the guy would come back ripped to shreds, but at least that was justice.

They should adopt that method again and maybe these bullies would think twice,

I would have the guy put in jail for assault. Going to jail is probably the only way he'll learn. You can't make people respect others if they don't. He could try counseling and anger management.

He needs to get anger management classes and personal counseling. Either his mother was beaten on and he sees it as "normal" or there are some anger issues towards women.

Either way...he needs to get help before he ends up in jail.

No. There is no cure. Anger management is bull----. Guys that hit women must have a pathetic self image if this "power" makes them feel good. This will not change. They will not change. And women who hope they will change while serving as their punching bag are doomed to a terrible life.

Does he ever hit you? (no) He can control his behavior, and chooses to abuse his girlfriends. He's playing you for sympathy. See this "friend" for what he is, and tell him next time he gets in the mood to hit a girl, he can come hit you instead-he won't take you up on it, because that would not get his rocks off. he is looking to you so this is your chance to help him. He needs to know that what he is doing is very wrong. He needs to go to group or some kind of therapy. Is he drinking when he hits? what common factor is present when he is violent? if there is one, he should first get a hand on that and then the violent outbursts. Thats my opinion anyways. But, most definately help him since he asked.

you did great send him to the counseler. if he ever gets in a fight again tell him to just come over to your place and crash that will remove him from the situation for a while and give him time to cool down so he doesnt burst out in rage and cause his girl physical harm it shows your there for him to but he should still go to the counseler if that doesnt work he needs his *** kicked no offence. also he may be bipolar or manic depresant fits of uncontrolable rage often happen whe your bipolar or manic.

I have lost my temper with different women I'd be dating, but never once would I hit them.. NO way..

I think that there is really no "cure" for any man who hits a woman. That's the way he is, and cunseling will help, but it will never make the problem dissapear completely.
