Is this a time when you don't "mind your own business"?

I have this friend, we're not really really close, but close enough to call friends. He lives in another country and would come to America every year touring with his band. He's not in the band anymore and wont be coming back to America.

Through the grapevine I heard that one of his 'ladies' he had while on tour, got pregnant. He doesn't know this and she does not plan to ever tell him. I have no idea who she is or even who she's friends with (besides the person who told me, and she wont say anything either).

So, what do you do? Ignore it? But how? He's about to have a son or daughter out there that he doesn't even know about. I kind of feel like it's his right. Is this one of those times that information needs to be given no matter who it comes form?

I do know he would want to know. He went on and on about wanting to have kids. And something very recent happened to him that made him not able to have anymore kids.

The problem with that is the child may not be his. If you have evidence or clear proof that this is his child, it would be better for you to have someone communicate with the mother and convince her to tell him.

BTW if she had a 1 night stand with him, how do you know it could be a habit with her? You don't even know her. It could not be his. It could not even be true. Its a rumor and if you assume its true and go about thing like it is AND that it is his kid...well, you know what people are called that "***"ume..

Since U really are a 3rd party..U really need to abide by the wishes oft he main parties (ur "friend" and this "lady friend" of his). It is NOT ur place to tell him anything! If she has made her mind up 2 not tell him, then that is her decision! It is not ur place (no matter how U feel about it personally) 2 go against that! And bsides, what U are hearing is really thru the grapevine! U don't know 4 sure if this kid is even ur "friend's"! Imagine what sh^t U would cause by telling him (ur "friend") that she is pregnant. He gets all excited! And then they find out that the kid isn't his! Now, U have caused all this BS because U felt the need to tell him because it is his right! Stay out of it! It is their business and has nothing to do w/U!

Well ... if you want to congratulate him and play that you didn't know HE didn't know, do that. Make it like an accidental mistake.

The reason for this is because it seems like he is the only one on the planet who doesn't know. When he finds out that you knew and didn't tell him, he will never speak to you again and be devastated. On top of which, he does have the right to know.

However, you need to be prepared for whatever happens if you do this. It might be a rumor, it might be false, it might be a stupid trick to get money out of him for a kid that's not his ... there are tons of things that you don't know, so you have to really think hard about this before you do anything.

This is my view.

Keep out of it. For one how do you know he would even want to know? And how do you know the story is true.

Since it is your duty to give out information why don't you at least be sure it is accurate instead of passing around rumors. After you track down the girl and have the paternity testing completed, then notify him.
