No it isn't fair.
There's something I heard someone explain once that helped me understand fights more and bring me more sobriety in concerns to how i should handle fights. They said that in a marriage it is the husbands major responsibility to love the wife and it is the wife's major responsibility to respect the husband. A problem may arise however when the husband forgets to love his wife or vice-versa. For instance, if the wife doesn't respect the husband at one point in time, the husband may in turn feel unadequately respected and start to love the wife less. This in turn makes the wife feel like she isn't loved and therefore results in her respecting the husband even less. Which in turn makes the husband feel less respected etc etc.
I'm not saying this is whats happening with your marriage at all. I just wanted to throw this concept out there for you just in case it could help because it did help for me to understand this whenever I heard it a few months ago. Read it in a book called "love and respect" by dr. emerson. lol I just hope I explained it well and didn't mess it up. |

Make a deal, whoever drives the car last, fills the tank up. Both of you could have filled it up at any time and both of you chose not to. |

it shouldn't be a big deal. there are gas stations all over the place, just pull over and put some in. takes 5 minutes |

If this is the biggest problem you face take comfort in such an easy fix. Fill the tank and forget the $10 here or there. Pick your battles since there are enough things around to have serious wars about. |

thanks to our brave troops,

who ever drove it last should fill it that is the way it is in our house, |

Put just enough gas in the car to get you where you need to go. If he wants more gas, let him put more in. |

If he was so concerned about the gas being low, he should have filled it when he saw it was low. So, no it's not fair to get fussed at for something he does too. He'll get over it. |

Oh, for heaven's sake. If either of you was a loving spouse, you would have put gas in the darn car, so that the other person wouldn't end up running out of gas on the road somewhere.
You both need to grow up and be a little more concerned about the other. |

These kinds of things are so petty, so insignificant, that if you're asking for validation from US whether or not you should be fussed at it shows that you're incapable of simply talking to your husband about something so SIMPLE.
You need to just sit him and down and say "listen, let's just figure out who will put gas in and when they'll do it" once and for all. |

Tracy, Tracy, Tracy, you know that we all have our "pet peeves". If you know that the amount of gas in the gas tank is one for the love of your life, how about just going out of your way to fill the tank? Don't play the martyr though, just do it out of love and consideration.
Now, is there something he can do for you? Probably, and he'll be more likely to jump to do it when he sees you going out of your way to make him happy - you know, the way you both used to do without being nagged or made to feel guilty.
Try to remember why you fell in love with this guy and go from there. If you keep wasting time and energy trying to make things "fair" in your relationship you will just wind up bitter and resentful. Life is too short for that. |

there are so many problem in the world........
Please try to get busy with them.
If he does not like to fill the tank then just you do it.
After all he is your husband not the competitor. In relationship problems start with this kind of silly things and it becomes a mountain afterwords. So solve it when its in your hand.
Good luck |

No,it isn't fair. He should have put gas in it when he drove it last. What is the big deal anyway? Does he not like gas stations? Tell him to grow up and worry about the important things. :) |

It would have been such a nice gentlemanly gesture if he filled up the car. I love when my husband does that for me.<> |

I'm not married and I can still answer your question. He should have been the one to put gas in the car since he noticed it first. He was ignorant not to, and not to place blame on you. Next time this happens, check him on it. |
