Is this normal: my wife is 5'4", 120 lbs, and she says she doesn't want to go out to social events that much?

From the chart below, she is within her weight range for her height and weight... I would assume that it is not necessarily weight that she needs to lose, but maybe just a little toning up... she sounds insecure... try to do your best to make sure that she doesnt feel that way and perhaps you may be able to get her out more. With the way that society is these days... unfortunately it is kind of normal for her to feel insecure about herself .... unfortunately :-( good luck!

Her weight is normal however her mind set isnt. She is obviously having some body issue`s, do you tell her how beautiful she is? If this is a problem she needs to see a professional, its not healthy to think this way.

That's basically my size but I'm probably 118. I go out there. She obviously doesn't feel good about herself. Has she gained weight recently? It sounds like she has PMS and feels fat and blubbery.
OK, so maybe you guys can start walking together or working out together.

You need to let her know that her body is fine by the things you do. Let her know that you do not want it bony. Love all over her body and let her know how much you like it. Make sure some others commit on how nice she looks also.

Alot of women are like this. Give her your reassurance. Get in shape together. It will improve her confidence, and it can be something to do together with her.

That sounds about 6-8 US, 10-12 UK? She doesnt need to loose any weight.

If that's how she feels, it's "normal" for her. Some women do have issues with their appearance, but one can take it too far...her size shouldn't be an issue since she's not overweight. Perhaps she's just quite vain???

I am 5'0" and i weigh 111 lbs. I also think that i am too big. Its a self esteem issue that she needs to get over. If you tell her how beautiful she is i am hoping that you do not over do it. Then it will only seem fake., however when you do say it if the look in your eyes and the sound of your voice doesn't link it will seem super fake. You need to remember that you telling her anything is not enough. She needs to feel like she is beautiful to herself. maybe you need to encourage counselling but don't make it seem like she is a wacko. Talk to her about couples counselling first and hint to the counselor her weight issues

Perhaps she's just a homebody? Not everyone likes to go out and party or go out to social events. I think her body size is irrelevant, unless of course she has said something about it.
