Joran van der Sloot is getting marriage proposals in jail....?

LOL what kind of women would really want to marry this guy? Come on.....any women out there willing to marry a convicted murderer? Hey at least you will know where he is at night right?

Sandy your right. What I find really amazing about him is his obvious closeness to him mother; but he is a woman hater. Most men who are this way hate their mothers. I would love to sit and be a psychologist on team who evaluates him. I do believe he is a complusive liar.

Now that his mother is suddenly discussing how ''twisted'' and ''sick'' he is, maybe they're thinking with an insanity plea he'll get to come home in 3-6 years instead of, well, never.

I knew a girl who was a correctional officer and got involved with a man incarcerated in the facility where she worked. He was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. Apparently, she fell in love with him and ended up losing her job over the whole thing. Now that she can't do any favors for him, he doesn't have anything to do with her. But she was willing to marry him and spend her whole life only getting to see him on the weekends, even after she lost her job.

Some people are very strange.

He hasn't been convicted yet although at one point he admitted guilt.
I read that women who get involved with men who are in prison for life (or have very long sentences) are afraid of intimacy and this scenario allows them to say they are married so they seem more "normal".

Some women find men like this to be extremely powerful, they are the quintessential "bad boy" and they are simply drawn to them. For those of us who are somewhat normal, it seems disgusting but you'd be surprised how many true weirdos are out there.

Van der Sloot is about the lowest of the low. This guy has probably murdered a dozen women by now - this girl and Natalie Holloway are the two he managed to get caught on.

Yes, there are plenty of women who seek relationships with such men. Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, Richard "Nightstalker" Ramirez, even Jeffrey Dahmer (who was gay) and others did not suffer from a lack of female admirers while they were on trial and in prison. Richard Ramirez got married while on death row. It's a very common phenomenon - a lot more common than you would think. I don't know exactly what the consensus is on the motivations for such behavior - I have not studied the topic in any detail - but I'm sure there's literature out that examines it.
