My ex just came over drunk as a skunk told me to open the f**in door. I said no and closed it so he decied to kick the screen in and crack the door in half. Do you think calling the cops was the right decision. This is the 5th time he has come over and broke my door/windows. This time he broke the screen and door. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH so flustrated. What would you have done?

Yes, you stop another human being from causing you bodily harm, irregardless of who it was, of course you did the right thing.
You should have started a journal when it all began the first time, but its not to late to start. Do it everyday and keep note of every single time you have any what so ever contact with him, even if its just passing on the street, keep track of events that are happening now, is creating hard evidence against him if you need it down the road, and don't assume you wont need it, like so many victims of domestic violence do. |

Calling the police was the smartest thing you could do. Next step get a restraining order against him. If he is willing to Vandal your home then just think about what could have happened to you. |

You did the right thing. When he is drunk and if he could kick a door hard enough to break it, what could he do to you? Sounds like you need a restraining order. Then he will land in jail next time he comes around. |

All I would say is it would have only taken 1 act of violence like that for me to have called the cops and gotten a restraining order. If he continued to do it I would call the cops each time he came to my home, especially drunk, and demanded to let me in. If you have no intentions to take him back you need to help the man realize this by being serious. If not you may have an even bigger issue that you can't handle. |

Seriously, Buy a gun, Learn how to use it, and the next time he comes to you house drunk and kicking your door in shoot him! If he enters into your house and was not invited and will not leave you can shoot him. Look the Cops coming have not stopped this and a restraining order isn't gonna stop a bullet or a knife wound. This is about your safety, well being and peace of mind. You shouldn't have to look over your shoulder every time you leave your house. Please for yourself get a gun, learn to use it. I really hope that he stops harassing you and I hope he doesn't hurt you in any way |
