Should had known better about my ex-husband after a while. Shouldn't had taken him back, but didn't listen to my intuition. Cost me a lot of money that he stole from a personal account, lots of grief, but now.. I know better! |

Oh yes... I had this feeling going on a trip to Germany to visit a "friend" (who, btw, was my ex fiance) was a bad idea. But, I went anyway and it turned out very bad. Very bad. After being there 2 days, I was left stranded with no where to stay and basically assaulted (by him). Thank God a female friend of his let me stay with her and also drove me to the airport so I could get the hell out of there! Never talked to him again (except when he emailed me asking me to pay him back for my plane tickets). No apology or anything. Lesson learned, I suppose! |

Yup. Many a time I've gone against my gut instinct and paid for it. I've learned now that if something deep down feels sketchy, then it probably is. |

Yes. In relationships, we hear what we want to hear. Often times the people we are involved learn to say what we want to hear. Your intuition will warn when you are being lied to. We convince ourselves other wise because want to believe the person talking to us.
Sometimes we don't want to believe hard truths about a person: yes he lied to me, yes he had a relationship with someone else while he was with me, yes he covered it up and got her to shut up, and yes...he's up to his same old dirty tricks again.
At some point you figure out turning a deaf ear and a blind eye on the truth does not make it go away or change its facts. The truth is there to protect you; if you are brave enough to let it. |

The simple answer to this is YES.
I'm now of the opinion that i will leave well alone if my instincts tell me that the person i am with is lying. Hope i have learnt from my past mistakes. |

I think everyone does. I have. I try to remember that no matter what the situation is, if it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is. |
