My mom is often gone during the day, and I would like to walk to my dads sometimes when she's gone, but he lives a mile away. There's nothing wrong with my dad, I see him every other weekend and I'm about to go on a week long vacation with him.
Anyways, she says if I walk there she'll just call the police on me. But she's gone SO often. Is there any way around this?

Btw I'm 16 and it probably has something to do with me moving to my dads in a month

Just visit your dad. Nobody can call the police on you for being with a parent, and it's good to spend time with both parents.
My ex-wife did stuff like that to try to keep my kids away from me. It just hurts the kids. Who were also living about a mile away from me. That's why I moved into an apartment so close - so they could come visit when they liked.
I'm sorry your mom's behaving this way, but I know from experience (she did threaten to call the police repeatedly on kids) that you don't have to worry about this. My kids would come to my house because it was the one place they could go where their mom couldn't call the police and report them as runaways if she was in a crazy mood. Because the police do not have a problem with anyone being at a parent's house. |

There is not a custody agreement on the planet that can dictate whether or not a 16 year old boy can visit his father if he chooses to.
It is not illegal for you to visit your dad if YOU want to. She can call the police, but there's nothing they can do. YOU have not broken any laws by walking somewhere during the day to visit someone.
Yes, it probably does have to do with you moving to your dad's in a month. |
