About a month ago, my husband's manager told him and his only other co-worker that if they don't score above a 95 on their audit, "all their jobs will be at stake". She told them that this message came directly from the VP of the company. After many sleepless nights, worrying, and crying, we talked to his manager and she said, "Oh, YOUR job isn't actually at stake. But I might lose mine. I just wanted you to work harder so I don't get fired. I didn't mean to make you worry" and I'm thinking, "That isn't even something to joke about." Why would someone lie about that?

people lie to avoid something, out of fear, maybe she thought she would be able to keep her job if the employees all did better and what else would one do but apply a little bit of stress to get someone to try harder. because no one wants to loose their job especially right now, not even the manager. |

You know it seems that the higher the management the less actual work and ethic critic they have. Just ignore her and keep doing your job the best you can. If she gets fired...Good riddance. |
