Marriage proposal stories?

My husband relived our first date. He took me to where we ate, and then went to a city park. In the parking lot before we went walking he asked me to play our song. When then danced to our song in the parking lot. Afterwards we walked to the place where we sat and talked for hours on our first date. I asked what in the world are you doing. He said I just forgot what this place looked like. So he then got down on one knee and proposed. It was very sweet and very unexpected. Good luck tonight.

I was meeting my boyfriend's family for the first time, in England. As I came down the terminal at Heathrow, he got down on one knee and proposed.

You can take her back to the place where you "knew" you loved her and pop the question there.
Talk a walk around a lake
Go on a picnic
If you want it to be public, then go to a place with a lot of people, get down on one knee and pop the question.
How about a candle light dinner for two ?

My ex took me to the place where we had our first date and then popped the question.
My man now, popped the question under the stars on his ranch during a time when the Air Force Academy near-by was having fire-works for their graduation ceremony and so I not only was out in the middle of a field, under the stars, but had fire-works as well. It was perfect for me but you have to do it based on what you both like.

Well it can't be worse than my friends, poor thing. She was sitting on the bed, he came out of the bathroom, tossed her the ring and said "You can wear that if you want." True story.

My ex proposed to me on Christmas Eve with his daughter there by giving me an engagement ring for Christmas. He never really even asked, just assumed what my answer was. Another no-no.

I am sure if you truly love and respect your girlfriend, anything you say that is heartfelt will be perfect. Add a little romance and flowers, and you'll be good. The more special you make her feel, the better. Good luck and congrats!

I didn't get a very memorable proposal (we were living 2500 miles away and he phoned and asked). However, we've been married almost a year and we're happy. Don't get too caught up in the proposal or even the wedding. The marriage is the most important part.

Having said that, go with something you know she'd like - a quiet dinner, a romantic spot, ring hidden in something...

My ex also proposed to me at Christmas in front of his mom and stepdad. I felt obligated to accept but later, felt so sick I changed my mind. Needless to say our relationship ended.

If she likes chinese food you could put a peice of paper with "you will have a life of happiness" in a fortune cookie, or just the ring, or both, and have the waitress give it to her. or put on the paper " you have found your true love" and then whip out the ring.

doesn't matter how you ask or who's there, at that moment it's about you and her and she'll always remember it as a good memory..
