Married People, Do you like your In-Laws?

Cannot stand them. I always wanted to like them, though. I always made a real lot of effort with them. It's unfortuante, because I always tried to dance around the ridiculous things they'd do to try to maintain a relationship with them for my husband's sake -- then I realized I was making myself absolutely insane trying to do so. Then, I stopped. I'm much less stressed and crazy now. I feel bad for my husband though, but he knows the problem was them and not me. Unfortunately because of everything they did to us (long story -- ask for details if you want) my husband had to push them away. He only calls his Mom once a week now to ask how she's doing, and we only see his parent's for holidays, period.

Sad, but it had to be that way because they were making our lives a living h*ll. :(

I wish I could like them, I really do. I always wanted a mother in law I could call "Mom" and do lunch with and stuff. Oh well! When my children grow up, I will be an excellent mother in law, because I know what drove me crazy! :P

was married and NO, i do not like my in-laws. they are nosey, rude, and just plain ole stupid! Cant stand them and actually their is a no contact order between my mom-in-law and i :)

Well, I am used to being straight up with people and my husband's parents are so sensitive. So I have to be careful around them, so I don't offend them.
I really don't care for emotional, sensitive people, but I get over it. I do like them...they are good parents and grandparents. But they are my husband's parents. I don't feel like I owe them any thing. I respect them. But I wouldn't get close to them.

Yes, I do, I just had to learn how to get them under control. You know, boundries and all that other fun stuff. I like my parents in law as people so that helps, our relationship has gotten much better with time.

lol... i love his parents to pieces, his dad sometimes calls me on the phone and calls me his daughter, and i call him the turkish word for father.

i suspect that i might my partner's parents more than he likes mine... but that's ok :)

I envy people who have good in-laws t00. Mine are just AWFUL! I wish they would keep all of their drama to themselves. Thank God for us living in our own separate house!
