Married Persons: How did you know the person you were with was the "one"?

I was going through a nasty divorce when I was 29. I fell madly in love with this guy and we dated for a while but he couldn't deal with the drama and we broke up (though we stayed in touch).

Fast forward 5 years. He asked me out several times and I kept turning him down...I didn't want to be hurt again. Finally I figured what they heck and we started dating. 2 years after our first date we were married.

Sometimes you just KNOW. There's no sure-fire way to know for sure or any tell-tale signs that are absolute.

For me, I just KNEW! We had been dating for about six months and one night I was at his house, sitting in his kitchen watching him make me a cup of tea. His back was turned and I was watching him and this weird feeling came over me, like a rush of adrenaline mixed with peacefulness. It was bizarre! I've never felt anything like that, prior or since.
That was 15 years ago and I can still remember the feeling and can even recall what he was wearing. We've been married for 8 years :-)

Im sorry to say that one day when you find the one then you will just know. Its something you cant really explain until you find that one. Its like you always have the butterflies in your stomach when you think, see, or feel them. Your always so excited that you want to cry and jump for joy all at the same time.

I met my hubby and I didn't pay much attention to him since we were at work and I wasn't looking for anyone at the time. I was just focused on work and my family. We ended up talking at work didn't think anything about it and then he asked me out. Just out of the blue. We went out and since the first date I just had a feeling about him. He was different. I had never felt like that with someone before. Everyday after that we were together. Three weeks and two days after we met we hooked up. We woke up the next morning and he just rolled over and asked me to marry him. I didn't even have to think about it. Two hours later we were married and have been very happy ever since. We never looked back because we both just knew we were meant for each other.

If you have to learn to love someone then you don't truly love them and they aren't the one you are meant to be with. When its right you just fall head over heels and that new relationship feeling never goes away. Even after three happy years of marriage!!!

i am not married but i have not had many good relationships. but when i met my man it was like everything fell into place i knew at that moment that i was in love with him and everyday has been getting better and better, we are thinking of getting married but college comes first for the both of us, but girl let me tell you, you will just know when he comes your whole world will change and its amazing and great and no other person in the world matters to you.

yeah cause im a freind with this guy named alex and every time i see him or hear his voice i get this fuzzy feeling inside saying he's the one alyssa go 4 it!!! this iz ur chance!

like i said the fuzzy or funny felling inside will let u know hes the "one " married person

Yea, because you'd had other relationships, I think you'll "know"- it just feels different.

With the men before my husband, when I would think about marriage- I had some fears and doubts. But when I thought about it with my husband- it just felt peaceful and right. I was my best self when I was around him.

I married the first time at 29 and looking back I knew it was not right. The 2nd time was at 45 and she most definitely is "the one." The long and winding road leads different people in different ways-I wish I had a more definitive answer. Trust your gut instincts I guess is the best advice I can offer.

when they make you a better person and you can be your self and dont have to act like i do this when you really dont you are 25yrs dont leave it to long to settle down before you know it your 30yrs old and no you have to compete with 18yrs old dont be to fussy if you dont like the way they dress or hair but you can relax and be your self and its easy relationship and then he will be the one
