I've known this guy since High School (Im 23) We were always very close, and all through High School he wanted to be more than friends, and we always had a spark and a certain chemistry, but I was in a long term relationship for almost 5 years, so we never had a chance to see where things would go.
Like most people after High School, we lost touch for about 2 years. We started running into each other a few times out at the bar or with mutual friends...still had that spark, but we were both in relationships.
We ended up hooking up about 8 months ago, which was great, but a little weird as well because we werent as close as we used to be...we kept in touch, texted, emailed, and made plans to hang out together which fell through a few times, and then all of a sudden, he dissapears off facebook, no more messages or texts from him. About 3 months later he re-surfaces on facebook, and has pictures from his wedding and is married. He said he met her at work, and they just hit it off. I complimented him on his wedding pictures and congradulated him, but whenever I brought up his wife or wedding he would change the subject, and he wont answer any questions I ask about his marriage.
He's been married for a few months now, and we talk alot, and are really close, he always says he wants to hang out again, and that he misses me. He sends me messages that say Im beautiful, and im his favorite, and says he was thinking about me all day, and cant wait to just hug me...stuff like that.
Despite his many offers, we havent hung out since he's been married (even though I would love nothing more than to be with him), because I dont want anything to come of it while he is married. We've always had this crazy chemistry and can easily pick up where we left off when we lost touch for a little while...Just seems like we never got our chance, and I think we would be great...However he is married. I just dont know if he knows how I feel about him...Hes always had feelings for me, and used to tell me and write me letters but I never told him I did, so he might think I just like him as friends? Im just not sure what to do about it all, especially since im crazy about him, and it seems like he still feels the same way?

I know how you feel but you have to ask yourself, do you want to be the reason his marriage breaks up? It's not possible for you to be friends and not cheat because whether you see each other face to face are just e-mail you are emotionally having an affair. And that's maybe be the worse type of cheating because it means so much more. If it makes you feel better tell him how you feel and then tell him goodbye. Tell him that if anything happens to look you up but that you don't feel right about what's going on. Think about it this way would you like your husband going behind your back this way? He needs to face facts and he either needs to give his marriage a chance or leave. |

He's not sending mixed signals, you are sending "I'll have an affair with you," signals. "...I don't want anything to come of it while he is married?"
He isn't dating, he's married. He got off facebook, he didn't contact you, he isn't setting up time to be with you, and his comments are just merely, stupidly, flirtatious. Who cares if he thinks about you, he's married. You need to stop this; how would you like it if some woman was doing this to you? |
