Why don't you asked advice from your parents, Mr and Mrs. Turnip and Brussel Sprout (also known as your mum and dad). |

If I took this at all seriously I would be a fool at best..Brockley Sprout? Russel Sprout? If it was true though I'd take the name cause it would be cool in a humour sense. |

I think this is really a very silly argument. If you two want to marry then you do, and you find a compromise with the name. In many countries there is no need for the spouses to change their names. And if she does not like your name, then why dont you take hers? or make up a new one that you both like? I mean... what the hell! are you going to let that get in the way to your goals? Think twice. |

one thing she don't have to take your last name. but it is pretty inmuture reason you maybe in luck don't sound like she is muture enough for marriage |

My name was Castro. How would you like that name... and yes, I'm first generation american. I'm white, but still. I married into Rutherford and that's better.. .but do you know how many people don't know their presidents?! Rutherford B. Hayes. 19th president. I'm forever having to SPELL it to them! |

Most brides don't have to change their last name anymore. It's becoming more and more popular these days. However, your partner should really accept all of you no matter what if you are going to have a healthy successful relationship.Names should definitely not be an issue. Good Luck! |

Names should NOT be an issue! There may be other things going on that she is using the last name excuse to cover her real reasons. Legally you can change your name(s) to anything you want. If I wanted to I could legally change my name to Elizabeth Smith, which is not something I want to do...but legally I could.
My husband and I have no issues with our last names. I am using my Maiden name along with his last name and my WHOLE last name. When is he ready he will take my maiden name and put it with his last name as well. A lot of couples combine last names as one. Or you could combine letters in both your last names and create a whole new last name. |
