my neighbor's wife is the estranged girl friend and mother of my brother's 3 kids. My brother has'nt seen his kids since they were babies the youngest one was still in his mommy's tummy when the ex just up and left and hid the children from him for 8 years. They were both young when they had their children and their relationship ended bitter. during the years my brother didn't see his kids his life was hell filled with depression suicidal thoughts anger.
Now the ex and I have become friends again because her children and my kids are friends, at first her kids didn't know they were cousins but I've always told my kids that they were cousins and now they play together almost every single day. I've also become friends with her husband, he's a good father to my brother's kids but it breaks my heart knowing that they are my brothers kids and even though we're all good to eachother my brother is still not allowed to see them or build a bond with them. Her husband's fear is that my brother would try to take them away or his wife and my bro might get back with eachother which I highly doubt would ever happen.To her husband those are HIS children and I guess my brother is supposed to just forget that he ever had them and just well move on with his life. Impossible. The ex has admitted her wrong that what she did was wrong and she also had faults in my brother and her relationship.she was filled with so much hate for him and thats why she did what she did. Now that she got "saved" she's a change woman who still won't allow my brother to see his kids I guess out of respect for her husband. I feel its only gonna be a matter of time before my brother takes her to court and I'm gonna get entangled into some huge custudy battle which has been long overdue.
I don't know if my brother ever paid child support I mean he didn't even know where they were the ex hid them far away to another time zone.
THis whole situation is making me so confused I'm even losing sleep because of it I can't imagine any parent being put in my brother's situation. my brother is a touchy subject for the ex and her husband. How could I let know what a great person my brother is that he is a great father if only she gave him a chance. what can't they just find a way to work this out?

This is a really tough one. My best advice to you would be to expressly state to all parties involved that, you are not going to take part in these issues at all. You are there as a loving aunt and this has to be worked out in the best interest of the children. It is not your job to let them know what a great person your brother is, it's his job to take care of this. He needs to remember that, it doesn't matter who's at fault here, the feelings of the children come first. All of the adults need to remember this. |

Your friend is still wrong saved or not she should've never denied your brother access to his children unless he abused them. Also your brother needs to stop acting like it's 1975 as the children's father he has rights and her husband has no say so in when, if and how their Dad sees them.
Your brother needs to man up, take her to court pay his child support and regain his bond with his children.
I'm not sure how you can sit by and watch this and I believe you left out some details. |

First of all, have you told your brother his children live close to you? He needs to know. Next you need to go to the police, with your brother and report this woman. She has perpetrated parental abduction. Next your brother needs to get a lawyer immediately and file for some amount of custody.
