My ex girl friend keeps making trouble when its my turn to have our child?

We have joint custody of our child and he stays with her for two months then with me. Every-time it is my turn to have him she causes some kind of problem like wanting to keep him extra time like a extra two months because of his birthday. I do try to work with her but when I finally get him back she wants to come get him early. I just want to know what can I do to make her stop. Maybe make a complaint to the judge to which our parenting plan is filed under. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you need to go back to lawyers or court.
Many people will share or alternate the birthdays & holidays.

It is great that you are being a responsible dad.
Many dads are dead beat dads.

Maybe the 2 months at a time is to long of a time. She gets use to having him to herself. What are the plans for when he is in school? You need to plan for that. Do you two live close enough to the same school?

We have a similar problem with my husbands ex. The only thing that works for us is sticking to the letter of the law, no swapping no changing of dates and no extensions. If the court order says 2 months it is exactly two months she gets. don't let her con you.

Two months is a long time to be away from your child, and is also a long time for her to be away from him. Maybe the best solution would be to shorten the time he spend with each of you to maybe a month and see if his helps. Good Luck!

I am not sure what is your whole story, but as a mother I am not surprised she is acting this way. It is not easy for a mom to be away from her child. I don't think it is something has to do with you personally.

Maybe talk to eachother, and tell her how important for you to have your child also.

I could not be away from my kids for 2 months, end of story.Thats not good for the child. You guys need to get it to where its only a few weeks with each of you. I would guess you live in another state? Why would it be set up that way if not?

don't put up with it anymore the longer u put up with it the more she is going to do it rite now this is the only thing she can do to upset u so she is so put ur foot down and put a stop to it call the judge and keep records dates and times that everything happens and what is said phone calls everything and trust me it will b better for ur child having more stable visistation knowing when they are going to one parent and coming home and not being used as a weapon anymore

Don't listen to any of these women who write things like 'oh i can understand mothers never want to let go of their children'. Well that's tough, she had a child with someone who was not right for her. And both parents are EQUALLY important in the child's life. So your child's mother is barring you from your LEGAL access to your child, then you file motions with an attorney to exhibit this behaviour to a judge and have her put in line.
