mind after i've bought tickets. what can i do? not sure if it matters, but one trip is with girl scouts and one is to visit my family in alabama. he does this all the time. everytime we plan something he says "ok" then holds it over my head if i don't do everything he asks. she went with her grandmother to new york city, and a week before the trip, threatened to not let her go because they started taking child support out of his check. i'm at a loss, don't know if i should just go ahead with the trips or take him to court over it.

i have saved all of his nasty text messages and threats to cancel her trips. i told him i was going to show them to the judge, and he replied "f*** you and the judge."

Take him to court then. I assume you have joint custody and also that in his nasty texts to you it is pretty obvious that he had already said yes to the trips. I'm pretty sure he thinks you are bluffing and is calling you out. Back up what you say with action. Good luck! |

You've tried handling things yourself, without involving the legal system, and your ex husband has refused to cooperate. He wants to handle this the hard way. Fine - take this to court. I'm guessing he's not actually going to tell the judge, "Fu*k you, Your Honor!" If he does, fine - take your kid on trips while he's in jail for contempt of court!
PS - Next time, get his permission in writing. |

Why do you have to ask his permission anyway? Do you have custody? Do your court papers state that you both have to AGREE to vacations??? |

Yes..take him back to court for permission to go and if you can't.. you want him to repay you for the money you spent on the tickets. |

Best thing for you to do is to talk to a lawyer about this. And the next time you ask him and he says it's okay, have him put it in writing. |
