My fiancee spends too much time and money on his family.?

I've been with my fiancee for a year and a half now and are living together. He goes sees his mom almost every week and now that his sister and niece have moved closer to town, he have been planning every weekend to do something altogether and usually he doesn't ask me if it's ok with me. He have invited them over to dinner, took them out to lunch/dinners, to events and we pay for everything because they don't have spendable income. He's fulfilling their lives as a male figure because his mom is divorced, his sister is a single mom and his niece doesn't have a father figure. I respect that family is important to him, but I don't feel like I'm number one. I'm sharing him with these women and competing for his love; he said his family makes him feel more special than I do. I don't think this makes me happy. Am I right to ***** about this? Am I just jelous?

the only bad thing about this story is that he doesn't ask you first

You live with him, you're planning to be his wife, of course you should have some say so over financial matters especially if you're working and contributing to household income.

There are men who have the need to feel superior through paying for expenses for their family members and friends, they need to be held up high through their generosity and be appreciated constantly. Your fiancee will not change his ways even after you're married so your options are 1) accept him for who his is 2) rethink your marriage.

If you're a submissive passive woman who constantly stroke his ego he would not feel that his family is more appreciative of him then you, I know my reply may sound harsh, he may be a good man but his constant need for ego boost will take a toll on you someday.

Culture clash in the making. He isn't going to change. If you know you can't live with it, time to make a decision.

Keep your money seperate tehn he can do as he wishes.

I think you might be over reacting to this. I think it is wonderful that he is a family man. If it bothers you this much that is now affecting your relationship then maybe you should talk to him about it.

I think you're jealous. You need to realize that he's the male figure in his family and it's his love for them that drives him to want to be with them.

If he says you don't make him feel special, well, what do you think that means? Whenever there's a problem in a relationship, the best thing to do is look inward on YOURSELF first. When you do that, you usually realize that by simply changing something about yourself will result in a big change in the problem.

Don't blame his family--they're his FAMILY! Try and figure out how you two can integrate them into your life while also making time for you two alone.
