My friend said she wants to get married...?

My friend name Antara and her man wants to get married secretly for personal reasons ...
She was woundering how much does UK care about a person's marital status. e,g, hospital, academic, etc....
Is all marriage recorded in a persons database (whatever storage it may be)? or can it remain a secret? xxx

This is such a weird question. Of course marriage is important to your public record - it changes everything. It's affects what kind of mortgage or loan you could get, who will be your next of kin in case anything goes wrong, what kind of benefits or tax system you'll have.

Marriage shouldn't have to be kept a secret - if your friend is mature enough to get married, then she's mature enough to be an adult and accept everything that comes with marriage.

Sounds like she's looking to cover up moving in with her boyfriend...secret marriage - pullease...

I don't think anyone would be able to find out if she doesn't tell anyone. Obviously if she changes her name then everything will change.........but otherwise I highly doubt it. Besides, shes an adult now (if shes getting married she must be) so she can keep it from anyone she likes realistically.
