everyone usually knows that they're not talking about a 'friend' but it makes it easier for the person to come out with if they don't feel like people are judging them and theyr personal problems. somehting like that any way :)

I think sometimes I get very suspicious if it actually is them. Especially when they ask "Is my friend pretty?"
However, I think most of the askers are being honest....I hope..

It doesn't really matter who the advice is for. Abuse is scary and no one wants to admit that they are powerless to someone that claimed they loved them. Whether it's for a friend or for themselves, I do not care. We should all want to help people rather than trying to question their motives. I know it's hard not to want to question motives, but we also have to look at the other person's point of view! Would you want to admit to the entire world that your husband beat you on a daily basis or did not allow you to shower unless he was home?

ummmm no. this is online so they would be able to hide there identity well. I dont think they would have to lie about who they are to people who dont even know them. Besides that, friends ask me all the time to post questions for them because they dont have a yahoo account or simply dont want one they jus want simple answers to one question. But i guess that could be the case in certain times with people who are very insecure. But i dont see the need to do that.

Of course sometimes we use a third person to expose our own problems. But your friend really needs help qith her husband, she does not hace to accept the abuse, she has the right to call de authorities and make him pay all emotional problemas he has caused to her.

I don't see why people would feel the need to lie on here, it is not like any of us know each other, I mean maybe some of us do, like I have some family members screen names etc.. but I have genuinely asked a question, probably more than one question, about my friends on here, I think people do this so that they can help their friends better. Someone might not know what to do or say and they are looking for someone who also had a friend in this situation, or they are just trying to get an opinion... I really don't read that far into stuff.
