this is why i said phipina, he works for a co. that employs them form the philipines to work as maids but they keep sleeping with American men to get their green card and his paycheck, he knew they provided more than maid service and he fell for it, even after my pastor talked to him.

What does it matter if it’s with a Philippino? The way you said that seemed a bit racist but…maybe you didn’t intend it to be. Anyway that isn’t the point the fact is he cheated. I agree try to get some financial help and begin the process. If you are separated and not living with him, and you don’t have anything to do with him then you can try to get help with the costs and go through the process when you are able. If he isn’t in your life then its fine all you need is the paperwork to prove you are not legally together. Unless you want to marry someone else right away then you have some time to get it sorted out. |

You could check with your local Legal Aid. Sometimes they will offer free or greatly reduced legal services.
You could speak with a local attorney, explain that you are on a limited budget and ask if you can make payment arrangements. If you have assets which will be divided upon the divorce, you can pay your lawyer from that. You could also ask your lawyer to file a motion for temporary maintenance (alimony) while the case is pending. You can use a portion of this money to pay your lawyer.
I would NOT recommend a divorce it or paying anyone to advise you because you'll just be throwing your money away. Get a lawyer. |
