They opened a artery in his groin and ran a tube into his heart, then sent him home the same day. The cardiologist said "some minor blood clots that would dissipate with median". Anyhow he was out in the garden yesterday digging like a gopher planning to plant a huge garden again this year! Ordinarily he raises enough vegetables for a army and GIVES them away to neighbors! What shall I do, at least he's happy with his life style but I love him and want the best of everything for him. Am I obsessing Or over reacting? Someone please advise me.P.S I will choke anyone who says divorce him!

This is a common procedure, so please relax. Depending on his age and general wellbeing I am sure he will be fine. Diet is always a very good thing to look at when it comes to any sort of heart condition. Get digging in the garden with him at least that way you get a work out and he doesn't have to do that much digging. Good Luck! |

He should be fine. They usually make the first couple of days the don't do too much days.
The procedure he had was a cardiac catherization and it's pretty common now days. And the protocol for how it's done and what you can do after wards has changed hugely in the last 5 or 6 years. Used to be you had to lay flat on your back with a sand bag applying pressure to the site for 12 hours, no movement. Now it's up and at 'em in a very short period of time.
My husband has had 2 of those about 5 years apart and it was night and day different! This last one a couple years ago, he walked back into his room from the recovery area and was allowed to go home in 1/2 the time of the first procedure.
He's liable to be good and sore today from all the digging but this too will pass. Part of it was probably a mental thing for him. He's worried about what having one of those exams means and the getting out in the garden is a normal thing and that is comforting to him. This whole heart thing is quite unnerving for some men; I know it was for my husband! |
