My partner called me the name of his ex, twice. What's a reasonable response?

My partner called me the name of his ex, twice. What's a reasonable response?

We have been dating for over two years. This did not happen until last month but since that occasion, it has happened again. We have very different names.

ex-und
that's no good ...
maybe he's been seeing her or something, and made him moved from the inside. Why don't you really ask with all the atention of the world.
Flashbacks aren't good! its not fair for you to deal with that kind of mistake!
good luck with that, and go on and face it!

bubbles
call him by you ex's name.

Peter Pry
Call him by your ex's name.

Bug Fuggy
A reasonable response: *slap*. If you've been with him for 2 years and this just started happening recently...he's seeing her again.

My response would be-

"Why the hell are you thinking about HER after you've been with me for 2 years"

Reasonable? I dunno. Justified, I think so.

your partner is sleeping with ex.
end of story.

BurdTurgler
Cut off his wang.

That's pretty reasonable.

Haha, I agree with IHeartME.
Call him by your ex's name.

In my own opinion, I think you should talk to him. Maybe he still has feelings for his ex. The best solution I can give is for you to talk as a couple. Respect each others side. Don't jump to any conclusions first because you'll never know what will be the effect. Hope this helps you. Don't forget to talk in a nice and calm way.

Nate's Monkey
Give him a break; sometimes people just slip up. If he was thinking about his ex (for whatever reason) he might have accidentally said her name instead of yours. If he keeps it up, perhaps you should bring it to his attention, nicely. However, do NOT assume that he's cheating or loves you any less. That can really cause a huge strain in a relationship.

Question him. Why all of a sudden is her name popping up in his head? Did he have a recent run-in with her? Maybe he's regretting the decision of divorcing her? Is their wedding/divorce anniversary date coming up or just passed? Maybe you're doing something that he and his wife used to do together and it's bringing back memories? If that's the case, it's a perfectly honest mistake. But you should remind him that you're not his ex-wife and you don't ever plan to replace her. After the third strike, I think a smack upside his head would be in order. =)

I'd ignore it somewhat.... meaning I would cause a big discussion or argue over it...... After mentioning it to him... explaining you really don't care to be called that...and it happens again, then I'd call him you EX's name..... I am betting he won't appreciate that, and will really start making an effort to not call you by his EX's

I would def. talk to him. Ask him why she has been on his mind so much. Is there something bothering him? Don't blow it off. Could be a sign of underlying prolems.

Marta L
Have they been talking? it is ok ,,,,,,why are you so upset?????,,,,,,, is he testing you??????? But if this is about you doing something back in retaliation, I suggest you make love to him like you have never done it before, erotic, tweeted and wild,,,,and when he is done tell him that you never got there and that you want more,,,,,,,trust me if he had someone else on his mind,,,,,,all his attention will be on you now.lolololol

My grandmother would say 'build a bridge and get over it'.

Cutiegirlxo
Since he called you by her name TWICE RECENTLY. I think he is starting to see her again. And cheating on you 0.0

your partner may be seeing them again or planning too because they are clearly on their mind. but dont' just to conclusions... it is possible that your partner has just been busy and tired from work or something is reminding them of their ex but not because they want to see them again. does your partner every disappear without telling you where they are going or what they are doing?

dark angel
I think that you need to be very concerned.Ask him what he was doing calling you her name? This is something that you need to know.Don't let this go.Your friend Dark Angel.

Lisa
She's either in his life or on his mind. You need to find out what's up.

It's a common problem, especially if he was with his ex for a while. From a guy's standpoint, he probably didn't mean anything by it, we are creatures of habit.

He must be thinking about her. Did they break up recently? dont worry about it unless he says her name again.
