Even 13 months after birth? I will add that we have four other kids as well.

Symptoms of PPD can occur anytime in the first year postpartum so 13 month is about upper limit of the time span but not impossible.
Women need to be taken seriously when symptoms occur. This is a two-fold practice:
First, the postpartum woman will want to trust her intuition about how she is feeling and believe that her symptoms are real enough to tell her significant other, a close friend, and/or her medical practitioner; erring on the side of caution will go a long way in the treatment of PPD.
Second, the people in whom she confides must take her symptoms seriously as well, aiding her with treatment and support. Partners, friends and physicians may notice changes in a postpartum mother that she may not. Knowing that PPD is treatable with a variety of methods can make persistence in seeking treatment easier. |

Yes! PPD can last until the baby is three years old. She needs to tell her doctor and if she can't, then you be her advocate. PPD is a serious thing.My second pregnancy triggered it which snowballed into a pre-menopausal syndrome. It wasn't funny and alot of women suffers from it. |

I do not think that is what it is.
I just went one whole week crying and feeling blue.
It could be one of two things if it's not depression.
Lack of vitamins and hormones or
she just needs some affection!
Take her out to dinner without the kids if you have someone to watch all of them.
