Need some opinions on this marital mayhem...?

First off i'm not saintly so please leave your judgement aside and give me your opinion on this clusterf**k.

I just got in contact with my ex who'd been married (or just seperated who knows) before. i ended up cheating on him because he made me feel too perfect. so that guilt of cheating got to me so i ended up getting in a huge fight with him and nixing him for sayin something incredibly stupid. we talked about and i thought we were back together. turns out in the time we hadn't talked because of the fight he talked to his ex wife or wife, whatever she was. then we had another talk and he said he was going to see if there was something there. he had left her.

that was two years. four months ago one of his friends in passing told me my ex's wife kicked him out. from what i really knew it was because of drinking so she wanted a divorce. ok, so i thought i'll be a nice person and offer him a friendship. needless to say that didn't really work because we picked up where we left off.

two months later, we're dating so to speak even though he's married still but he lost his job. he's on her insurance because one of his kids has bad health problems sometimes.

inevitably what happened was that happened about two weeks ago, she contacted him by text talking about who knows what. he didn't tell me, i had my suspicions because everything changed. he'd been spending weekends he had his kids with her whatever.

so one fabulous night i invited him over. he ended up getting plastered on the way here and confessed all of this stuff, including talking to his wife and how he loves her and he's in love with me. he's been in therapy for about a month.

to make this shorter, he's going to try and work it out a third time. he loves her kids and his kids love her etc etc; they don't have biological kids together. i personally think she's trying to lure him back in with the kids because her job may be in jeopardy thanks to the economy and there's another round of layoffs coming. why, i don't know he got laid off too

the reason from what he told me he was drinking so much the second time is because his first wife and his current wife don't like each other. they went to court last year and it was written that the current wife can't make any decisions for his two boys.

i've washed my hands of the situation believe me. i want to know what you guys think? do you think it'll work a third time?
