No matter how much a woman says she loves you? EVERY GUY should get a prenup?

Because women marry for the house, car, kids, child support, alimony, pain and suffering, his pension, his social security, hell, if women married for love, divorce lawyers would be non existent.. Every men that feels the need to fall into the marriage trap should have a prenup in place to protect himself.. Am i right??

Depends upon the couple, as married over 22yrs, my wife is on everything we own,
and once a marriage is a true marriage, all outside interference can't break in,
I took the advise from my dad married over 55yrs to my mom, and they never had
a Prenup, they just had each other and that was enough.

It should be a law.....they have laws to protect women during divorce so why not some to protect men beforehand. Or at least some education as to why its needed.

If either party has way more to offer financially, that person should ask for a pre-nup. If it's "true love" the paper won't matter.

Both parties should get a prenup.

Common sense isn't anymore..

My husband and I had nothing when we married. We earned what we have together.

I think any person who has already gained a lot through life before meeting thier mate should get a pre-nup, male or female.

Every PERSON with assets of any value, would be wise to require a pre-nup...male or female. You may feel head-over-heels in love with your partner today, but tomorrrow that could change. Wise people protect themselves in case of such changes...

Sure your right. Women should too.

Here's a book for you to read.

Say What?
Yes, because although some women do make more than their husbands (usually the ones who don't exactly qualify as "hot"), its usually the man making the money.

Actually, what benefit is there to a successful guy to get married? I say none, too much risk, too little reward.

You sound like my ex-boyfriend. ....
I say "Get a pre-nup if you are a millionaire or close to it." Other than that I wouldn't bother. There is so much in a marriage that you CAN'T put a monetary amount on. Like the time she stayed up all night with you while you were deathly ill in the hospital and fed you ice-chips. The time she put up with your mother who is downright obnoxious. The time.....etc. And, you'll probably do the same for her. If you marry for love, that is.
Other than that, no matter what you write in a pre-nup, it can be overridden. The courts will look to what is fair and even.
So, you're wondering whether or not a female is marrying just for your car, house, alimony etc? Well, if there is any wonder, than you shouldn't be marrying her. ...

That makes a lot of sense. However, it goes both for men and women. Prenup helps for predictability, you know what to expect when it happens.

I agree. If she loves him that much, she shouldn't mind getting a prenuptial. The prenuptial only takes place if there is a divorce; if she really loves him, then she won't have to worry about it anyway...

prenups are good if you do not have equal assets before you are married. They are pointless if you both have nothing.

I am more inclined these days to suggest pre-nups and post-nuptial agreements. They should be comprehensive.

The reasons why I suggest them is that if the marriage turns into a nightmare, at least everyone has an idea what they're obligated to do and what they are not obligated to do.

If there are kids, visitation and custody issues can be negotiated up front.

All of the above said, I do caution that pre-nups and post-nups are not 100 percent infallible. A judge could rule against the agreement despite the fact that it was very well negotiated at arms' length.

And with the additional above said, I would suggest hiring a good lawyer for both parties, and each being represented by separate counsel its possible that the agreement can be fair, balanced and equitable and spell out what property is to become marital and what property will remain separate.

Otherwise, no one knows what a judge could do.
