I don't think what to do with my engagement rings, I was going to get married in June But 5 months ago my fiancé was in a car accident that day I lost my best friend, An I loved him so much we where together for 8 years. Now I have a very special engagement ring he made for me, it has 6 of the women on his fathers side there diamonds from there engagement rings on it. An 6 of the women of his mothers side there diamonds on it an a diamond he bought for me i know it means a lot to his family. I don't know what to do with the ring, I've talked with both his grandmothers an they both said to keep it that its mine. There is no one else to have the ring he made for me he was the only child. If I keep it could I wear it still? Even if someday I find someone?

How awful for you to go through.
First, his family is telling you to keep it. Second, if he had gotten killed after you were married, you wouldn't be questioning this.
He will always have a special place in your heart. He gave you a ring that meant something to the two of you. Treasure it. |

Keep it as in terms of appreciation not as in terms of mourning. You can wear it if you want to, but don´t if you feel sad about it. |

I'm so sorry for your lost my dear. This ring might be a sad reminder now..but as we know time is a great healer..One day you will look at this ring and be reminded of a best friend, someone you loved and the happy times you share..so keep it its yours it was given to you to show you how much and how special you are to him.

I am sorry to read about your loss!
If his family has respectfully said that you can keep the ring... I would consider it a blessing to have such a wonderful expression of his love for you. You should never forget... and when you remember him and the time y'all had together, you will still have something to be able to physically hold on to.
Defiantly keep the ring. If you want to continue wearing it on your left hand... that is still fine. If you are a little uneasy or questionable about it, you could always put it on you right hand.
And as you asked "even if someday I find someone" then I would defiantly at that time, respectfully wear the ring on your right hand. It would be no disgrace to him (the one that gave you the ring) and and although y'all's relationship will be there forever in your memory, I think he would want you to be happy. |

Yes. You keep it, it is your forever. When I got married, I had my mothers and paternal grandmothers wedding bands melded together. It was simple but pretty and I got compliments on it.
Alot of woman still keep rings on from the past, so if you want to, you should. I know it may cause some fear in a new person that you are not over this other person when wearing the ring, but a mature person will understand and love you anyways. |
