I am not defending your husband, I am just looking at all options. You didn't say if you were doing the laundry at home or at a laundromat. If you were at home did you let anybody else that MIGHT use thongs do their laundry. If you can answer both these questions with a "No", then pray and ask God for direction. Hope you can find a reasonable answer to this problem, for your families sake.

The overtone of the situation is that you think your husband is fooling around, and at that young age, the thought of Dad with unknown panties would be traumatic or lead to connections in her young mind that may or may not be accurate. Don't let her hear, or overhear the issue as it 'unfolds'. -- lol-- sorry for the pun.

Make a list of any female visitors that have stayed with you over the past few moths. Ask yourself could they be from maid, laundry mat, babysitter....other? Somebody could have got their period or had a mishap at your house and taken them off. Maybe. Has he gone to a bachelor party recently and mistakenly brought home a souvenier? If you rule out all possibility of sources from where they came, than you need to do some serious talking to with your husband.

I would definately talk to your husband when your daughter is not home or you two are out alone together.

You need to press the point that they are not yours or your daughters.... and if needed, he has to investigate with you where the hell they came from.

If he gets too dismissive or overly defensive- either extreme, than I would consider couples counceling. If he refuses that, then he is not putting the work into restoring a TRUST ISSUE that may or may not be founded on merit. Whether you are right or wrong in your mistrust of this situation....the trust issue needs to be addressed by BOTH people to avoid future issues.

I know it must be very hurtful to think of your husband cheating....but don't jump to any conclusions just yet. There is work to be done in investigating and communicating before making emotional decisions, reactions.

I wore thongs when I was a teenager. Ask your daughter about it before jumping to conclusions. She may have gone out and bought them herself and didn't want you guys to know.

Edit: 4 1/2?? Um, your husband is an idiot. I'd pack his things and tell him to get out. Make sure you put that pair of thongs on top of all his clothes in his suitcase.

She's 4 1/2, so blaming her means he wants you to believe a) she's wearing an adult size thong or b) she is pulling a prank on the two of you. Are they your daughters size? If so and if she's not 5 years old, then it is possible your daughter has some. I know girls when I was young who weren't aloud to were certain clothes. They just hid them and changed at school. Is your daughter somewhere between say 12 and 18? Then it's possible. If your daughter is really young, then it's doubtful.

well how old is your daughter? Lotz of girls wear thongs...when the time is right. But if you have a young daughter...well your husband may be cheating on you..or maybe the thong was left in the machine and just got mixed up with your clothes...

They very well could be your daughter, just ask. If you don't believe him and you feel so strongly about it, maybe you should go to marriage counseling before calling it quits because you need to see what he has to say and you don't want to divorce if your daughter is at a young age.
