Okay, so I've been seeing this guy....?

and he has a child with his live-in-girlfriend-psycho-woman. Me and him want to get together, but he doesn't want to lose his 2 year old son. His son is the only reason him and her stay together. They normally give the "mother" custody and I was wondering how he could be able to get his son. I know it's something I should be asking a lawyer, but I thought I'd try this first.

Please no smart-@$$ answers. I didn't ask to be criticized on morals.

I think its a good idea for him to get some professional advice. I have been in a relationship with a guy before who had a son. He didnt get along much with the mother although they tried their best for the child. They both need to have the childs best interests at heart in this situation. My friend is also in the same situation where she is with a guy who has a daughter and the mother is a phyco-path and has made it really hard for them but the father has had the support of his family and friends to help him have his daughter atleast 3 nights a week. The mother did something really stupid and they went to the police and this has given him more time with his child. So if she does anything really silly she will regret it.

You're cheating with this guy, which is going to be damaging to his son. No amount of calling the mother a psycho is going to make that okay.

This is a problem that he is going to have to deal with on his own. He needs to ask an attorney and you need to stay out of it completely. Without being critical I will say that you will only make things more difficult for him. If she finds out she will use it against him without thinking twice about it. You can make suggestions too him but you can't make him do anything and you can't do it for him. If he can prove her unfit for some reason then getting custody shouldn't be a problem but if she isn't unfit and there are no other real reasons for him to have sole custody they will probably end up with joint legal custody with one being the custodial parent.

Regardless of the relationship between the two of you this is none of your concern and it's best all around if you take a back seat and let it play out however it is going to play out. Your presence will only complicate matters. You put yourself in this position so do the right thing and take yourself out.

You do need a lawyer to give you exact answer, but I don't think you should be worried, the law will make sure the father is not left out away from his son even if she gets the kid.
Moreover,he should accept and be happy for his kid,I can't imagine a better place for a 2 year old than being with his mom.

Start documenting his sons mothers 'psycho' behavior. Like time, date & what she has done. Speak to a lawyer asap.
