Older man, younger woman relationships?

Well most women are attracted to older men at first because women mature emotionally faster. So a guy who is younger or the same age would be too immature, which means she looks for an older guy who is mature enough for her.
After that it just becomes an ingrained things, to look for older and more mature men.

It seems that men mature later. They usually know what they want and are ready to "settle down" when they are older. So a woman at 25 and a man at 30 are probably pretty compatible.

It is true about women usually living longer but I guess cross that bridge when you come to it.

I am 29 and would never consider dating a man uder 35. Past experience :)

Men live and feed on their ego system throughout their lives, I'm not saying that it's always a bad thing but that's the difference between men and women. Women think twice about being with younger men, younger men younger by more then 10 or more years, 5 isn't a huge gap. Women especially who have sons are more likely to feel "weird" being with a younger man whereas men are oblivious and feel almost "proud" to be with much younger women and the funny thing is that most men will applaud the older men for having achieved their ego boost. That's my ONION.

I personally was involved in a relationship with someone 30 years older.

It made great sense. I was mature for my age, and relationships with guys in my age bracket were unfulfilling (to say the VERY least).

I enjoyed 10 years with the man, and even though I am marrying someone my age right now, this relationship is and will never be as good as it was with the older man.

Im 25 my boyfriend is 36. He is just as mature as i need him to be. He is the best fit for me. We are both divorced and starting a new. I wouldn't have it any other way honestly. Yes i know that I will probably have to spend 20 years without him. I accept this. At the end of the day you love who you love even if you know that you will probably out live them.

I think it has a lot to do with maturity. As the poster above stated a woman at 25 is more compatible with a man who is 30+ typically. Now I do have some friends who swear that younger men are the way to go but in my opinion I don't want to train anyone lol. To each their own though:)

As far as men dying earlier this is true as well. Back in the medieval days women would try to go for the old men. This allowed them to be come widows which gave them property. Then they married again and again achieving more property and possessions which was one of the only ways women could increase their status and upgrade their social class.Hmm have we evolved that much or do some women still follow that path lol?

It's also been proven that if the husband dies first,typically the wife will go on to live for many years but if the wife dies first the husband typically dies within 3 years. Reason being that women surround themselves with friends and know how to handle their emotions better(typically) which allows them to grieve and move on. They also are better at supporting themselves . Husbands who are widowed have a harder time grieving and usually have harder time with depression as well.

You are absolutely correct...however, in my opinion...the woman will simply move on and find another (I mean why not)--and I am referring to after his death

my ex is 29, i'm 20.. My current is 31.. Age difference of 11, but i really dont mind it.. Everyone says i'm real mature for my age anyway.. And we have a lot of common ground though he's a doctor & i'm an accounting student.. We suit each other perfectly
