appointments with the consular in El Salvador before he can return to the usa as a citizen. This can take between 3 to 6 months sometimes more. Now my question. He takes care of our 9m old daughter during the day while i work and he works nights and weekends. We dont make alot of money so affording childcare is next to impossible. My husband thinks i should let my daughter leave with him since we dont have family where we live. I dont want to do that because i mean shes my only child, shes young and im going to be all alone. I dont want to miss out on anything she does. We have a lawyer working on his case. The lawyer said not to let her go, my family said not to let her go. No one wants her to go but i dont know what to do. This is also causing my husband and fuss because hes use to waking up with her and taking care of her and hes totally aganist childcare and so am i. I mean he doesnt see the point of me keeping her and having to put her in childcare. i dont know what to do. Please any advice???

For SURE, I would NOT let her go w/her father to another country, especially since it's going to be for awhile. She needs to be home in her own surroundings for this period of time. Is there maybe a neighbor or a friend who could just be of help to you for this period of time who would be willing to watch her for you? Maybe a neighbor? At her age she shouldn't be that much extra care if you had a play pen to put her in, she isn't at the age yet where she can even get into things, & play pens are God savers, were to me anyway! I don't know IF you could afford to just put her in a child care place for this short length of time while he'll be gone? There are lots of child care places, & they ARE good. You could go visit a few & just see how they manage their children & I feel you'd be surprised at the GOOD care they do give them. My D-I-L had NO choice when she worked & had my two Granddaughters that she got a break in price for having both of them in child care, they both loved it! They were both treated w/loving care & actually looked forward to going. So, I would NOT hesitate at all in putting her in child care for a period of time. It would be good for her too to be able to be w/other children her own age. Go visit a few & see what I'm referring to & I honestly think you'll be pleasantly surprised. After all, it's NOT going to be forever & IF this is the only alternative beside your husband taking her, I definately would take that as the choice of the two. But, maybe ck. w/a few of your neighbors first to see if one of them just may be willing to do it to be able to earn a few extra dollars you could pay them. I DO wish you all the best...:) |
