Your first problem right there is treating him like a little baby by saying your going to have to punish him and that his house cleaning duties are slacking.

He is your partner why treat him like a baby or a small child. Im sure he resents this. And perhaps your driving him to drink. He's probably trying to let off steam in other ways.

I think you need to analize how your treating your mate.. If you get stuck think if the tables were turned would you want your husband doing the same towards you.

So Please somehow get help on this issue, and im sure you both can have a healthier relationship.

All I can say about some of the answers is....OMG. Not much help, are they? LOL

One, HE got drunk and HE made a fool of HIMSELF. I think that's punishment enough.

Two, he slacks on his cleaning duties. I may not be the best person to ask, as I'm not the most diligent of housewives when it comes to cleaning; but I can suggest to you that you not pick up his slack. If he drops his dirty clothes on the floor, leave them there; that's what I did, and he learned very quickly not to do that after our elderly cat mistook his socks for a litter box. LMAO Do what you need to do and no more.

next time he gets drunk, shave off his eyebrows, paint his fingernails put a wig on him lipstick and take a picture.as far as punishment and discipline.....he's not a child. tell him how you feel, give him a chance to fix it. you are using a negative way to go about getting your needs met. this will just make matters worse. what goes around comes around. what will he do to "punish "you in return.?
