Question about an X that I've recently started talking to again.?

Timing was off for me and woman I use to date. Now it's been a little over a yr since we've even talked but we've recently been in contact (phone and email) and actually met up for lunch yesterday. It went great and we ended up hanging out for a couple of hours. At the end of the outing I dropped her off at her car and she leans over to hug me bye and to thank me for the meal, ect...
She kissed me on the cheek and then on the lips. I of course reciprocated. She whispered that she missed seeing me. Later on that same day she called me about bedtime and talked for nearly an hour. Nothing serious, just chatting, but the important thing is that she took the time to call and obviously wanted to chat.
I was probably responsible for the relationship not working out the first time because I tried too hard. Sort of smothered her I think. How do I proceed from here without smothering her again? How often should I call, ect...? Also, any feminine insight as to what she may be thinking?

I think that just like men, women appreciate a challenge as well. We love attention, but too much of it makes you seem like a bug-a-boo and wimpy. Give her the opportunity to actually miss you. Otherwise, it just feels like you are coming on too strong.
I ended a friendship with this guy after only talking to him for like two weeks. He called me like every 30 minutes (no lie). I felt migraines coming on every time he called. It just became crazy to me.
It seems like there is still love there on both sides. If someone really likes you, you shouldn't have to force it. If you do, they may not be the one for you.

This is marriage and divorce section. But I guess you probably posted here because the singles and dating section is full of kids. Maybe there should be a section for long term relationships or live in lovers. Anyway to answer your question, you should be happy things are going well. You sound like you want her back, Go for it. Whatever you think you did to smother her last time around, just dont do it this time. Simple!

Let her initiate... follow her lead. Don't rush things until you are certain that things are headed in the right direction. It sounds like she wants a second chance with you.

A girl only gets back to talkin w/the ex cuz she feels she is missin a piece of something you 2 shared at one time; she knows if she is desperate for a man she can get you, you are weak in her eyes. Well it is obvious she wants to have a relationship with you. The main thing is, do not try to play games with her. When people play games the wrong signals are sent and misunderstandings are inevitable. Do not let her initiate everything because that looks like you are not interested. Both of you should be initiating times to meet etc. If you are thinking about her there is nothing wrong with just sending her a text that says "I am thinking about you." I hope everything works out. It sounds as though you are both interested in rekindling the romance.
