well, i got this problem... i decided to end the relationship because i know its the best thing to do, my bf (we lived together, with his parents and we have a son) everything was being messed up by his parent. you have to do everything in favor to them and the worst my bf doesn't stand up for me and for my son, he is very irresponsible in terms of money and his responsibility with our son
he doesn't go home
he buy only the things that he wants
and when i ask for money for our child's milk, diaper and vitamins he started complaining that he doesn't have any money
but he can afford buying expensive watch, bag and clothes.
he's parent are the worst
they also cover all the mistakes my bf makes and my mistake was always a big deal even though it was not that worst they just exaggerated it.
now, my husband don't want to give child support and i'm planning to sue him up if he doesn't do his responsiblity.
i want to know if unmarried people also have laws
they always use " di kau kasal kea ala kng karapatang mademand (money)"

It depends on your state. Very few recognize informal marriages now. The only thing that matters is getting child support. |

Married or not, your child is entitled to get support money from the child's father here in the USA. I don't know how it works in other countries. |

Just file for child support immediately. He has to pay that regardless of your living arrangements and it should help somewhat.
I have no idea where you live but where I live unmarried people do have laws yes. It's called a de facto relationship and when it ends you can apply for property adjustment etc just like a divorce, so you could be entitled to some assets accumulated during the relationship. As it's his parents' house though, I'm guessing that's not much. I live in Australia, but we have some of the most progressive laws in this area it seems and it's not like that in all states of the USA. Common law marriage is only recognised in about 15 states I think.

Most of the time if your not married there is no law. But, what do you expect living in someone elses house that they won't be in the way, I think you are probably the one that was in the way, it's not your house. He will have to pay child support for his child unless he get's custody then you'll have to pay child support. Depends on who the courts think is the best parent to have custody. |
