Clo is back from Florida !

No, she gave a direct answer to a direct question. This is America, where the heck is "freedom of speech"? She did not at any time, offend personally anyone. She simply stated her own personal view, as she was required. |
|

Hello!!
 |
They asked for her opinion, why isn't she allowed to have one? |

I don't agree with what she said, but if she can't express her personal values in America then what's the point of freedom of speech. In other words...we are free to express ourselves as long as there's no chance someone might get offended. Getting offended is the byproduct of living in this society. I'm so sick of everyone making a freaking production out of every instance. NOW, how 'bout that swine flu?? |

no, not at all..... I think this is all BS personally.. The question was asked specifically about her personal views.
I think she answered it fairly and just because it may not be what other people may believe you should still respect her for saying what she truly believes.
She did not criticize anyone or say it offensively. So its just BS. |

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. And if you do agree, then to each his own. Anyone out there who has any type of religion or humanitarian beliefs would have to agree, life is about tolerance, be it of people, places, things, whatever. You must tolerate some things in order to be a better person, and that starts with tolerating other people. You may believe you're right and they're wrong, but they may believe the same thing about you. Just let it go, and if you're right, feel right, but don't make them a lesser person because of it. Coexist. |

I think No because that's how I was raised. |

OK, the gay community would like to have the world stop judging them and having the world make it Ok for them to live there lifestyle. They would really like it if churches and communities would quit cramming there beliefs down the gay communities throat. AND yet they have absolutely no problem cramming there beliefs down the non gay communities throats? BY FORCE and INTIMIDATION? Go against us and well cost you your title(for Miss America), churches non profit status?
(See the reaction to the Mormon support of normal marriage?) And any politician who doesn't happen to agree with them? Miss California spoke her mind and her belief (which is a PROTECTED right in this country, or at least was) The gay community wants tolerance yet has none. As for your answer...NO, Miss California is entitled to her beliefs and her position. It took courage for her speak that way. KUDOS MISS C! |

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. There are a lot of people who applauded her answer, but of course there are a lot of people who disagree. She can't please everyone and she shouldn't be expected to. She answered honestly, and that is the whole point of that stupid contest. |
|

MML
 |
No, she should not. She has an opinion and has a right to one, and that was hers. Now, undoubtedly, she wished she had not said what she did because she felt her answer cost her the crown. Whatever. She was true to who she is and that's what is more important than a crown. If you can't be true to yourself, then you can't be true to anybody else, or anything you do. I think she said what she needed to say! |

My understanding is that the question was given to her to answer
and she answered it the way she felt. She has a right to her opinion
and that's what she gave. I don't agree with it and that's my opinion.
I have a bigger problem with the committee paying for her breast implants. I thought beauty pageants were supposed to be about the
contestants real beauty. What's beautiful about silicone? |

 |
No.
She's entitled to her view just as the rest of the population is entitled to theirs. I have a lot of respect for her - she's got the balls to stand up and say what she thinks - even if I don't agree with her. Good for her. |

NO!! What happened to free speech, or maybe free speech only applies to comments that are politically correct. |

For speaking her mind?
Gays want tolerance, yet are too narrow minded to tolerate HER opinion, which is protected under the FIRST AMENDMENT. |
|

true blue
|
No she was just stating her opinion.
This is America still isn't it? |
|

TSW
|
No she was asked a question.
She gave her honest opinion.
She was set up to fail with that question.
They wanted her to say what they wanted to hear and she surprised them by telling the truth. |
|

ultrason_5
|
No i agree with her 100% and so should everybody else. She was showing strength by speaking the truth instead of what everybody wanted to hear. |
|

No. Despite how ignorant her or lacking in compassion and tolerance her answer was, it was still her belief. I thought it was refreshing to see some real questions in the pageant, which is a retarded tradition anyways. However Perez Hilton should be hung out to dry for the names he called her and how ignorant he acted. |

She needs to be educated. So do you. Freedom of speech is goes both ways. She was free, of course, to express her opinions and the judges were free to express theirs. That they voted to give the crown to someone else was a proper expression of their opinions. |

i think when your in the public eye, u really have to watch everything u say. u have to watch that u don't offend anyone. and when u offend others there is always a price to pay. everyone has opinions, but some things are better left unsaid because when u speak up the people u offend will always find something on u. |
