Should i be ok with her best friend being her ex.?

I have been with my girlfriend for a bit over a year now and we are doing quite well. She has a best friend of 6 years who happens to be her ex boyfriend. He talk to her occasionally and they engage in descent conversations. I sometimes though feel as maybe he might come back into the picture. We are actually moving into a 2 bedroom condo on may 9th and i just want to make sure that im just over reacting and that this will not eventually just effect our relationship.

What's really going on? I've seen four of your questions so far, and in one, you're separated, in this one, you're moving in, in another, you've been dumped -- is this some kind of bs entertainment for you?

luckywife
that's really odd but if you trust her then don't worry about a thing.

I dated a guy for a year and we broke up, but we became best friends. We knew that we would be better as friends because the "spark" just wasn't there, but we had so much in common that's why we stayed really close. If she still liked him they would most likely still be together so there is a reason that they are not. She is about ready to move in with you, that should tell you something right!! But don't make a big deal out of it. Good Luck.

Ohhh. I would feel be bit on edge about this but would not let it bother me too much if I knew my partners intentions and the other persons(which could change, but at least u would be secure for the time being)

Seems to me you should be her best friend since you seem to be building a life together. He can be a friend who she speaks with on occasion.

My fiance said ....NO you should not be OKAY with this.

I feel it's a normal male response to another male near his mate. If she doesn't like this protective factor about you...then honey you need to be with a woman with the same values as the complications will only compound over time and it will be more difficult as time goes on to leave.

I think women can easily be just friends with ex's and nothing more..you need to trust her unless she gives you reason not to..my daughter is always good friends with ex's and would never want to be more then that..it didn't work out the first time in a relationship form so they stayed friends and can deal with each other like that..I don't think anyone likes the thought of an ex being in the picture..its kind of intimating.. but she is and you need to discuss your feelings with her so she can maybe more sensitive about it..I doubt she would like you being best friends with an ex..so maybe communication can help..Good luck !

I have an ex bf and we are good friends now because, well, I just don't like him that way! We grew apart a long time ago and I couldn't ever see us together again. You say they only talk occasionaly, then I wouldn't worry to much about it. If she is with you, and taking this relationship to the nest level, then she wants you.

You may try talking to her about your feelings. If I understand how you feel, then I'm sure she will. Just be honest and tell her your kinda jealous of how they talk so well! It might even turn her on that you are jealous (as long as you aren't the angry, crazy jealous type!).

You ask one question about your wife and you ask another question about your girlfriend. I don't think any of these questions are real.

tell her that u trust her,u can sense her if she still had feelings to her ex,if i were on ur position,i feel awkward too.

Talk to her to ensure all this but I wouldn't be worried. Sometimes when you date someone you realize your not good as a couple but great as friends.

Be careful. My ex is my dear friend as well and yes, I still do have strong feelings for him. It's the type of thing that is impossible but desirable therefore you might not be in danger, get it? Conclusion, most likely, he still has a piece of her heart. So as long as you can live with that, then you'll be fine.

claire
sweety trust her.don't blow this out of propotion.my bf has his ex as his friend and i'm going to trust him.and i am fine with it.he has been honest with me since we've been together.so just trust her.and if you have a female friend i hope that your gf trust you.as long as there conversation is descent then let it be.i dont think she'll go back to him.they broke up for a reason.
