Ive been with my boyfriend for just over 5 years, living toghether for 3 years, November last year i asked him to marry me, he said he would but dont know when, last night i asked him again, he said to me that he cant see the future, and if he could he would be a millionair by now, i dont know what to do anymore,im not in a rush to get married but this year we will be starting IVF,so i would like to be engaged to him,but that is not the only reason for wanting to, its to have more of a commitment, i need some advice, am i being stupid?

I think that if you have been with him for 5 years and there hasnt been more of a commitment, there is something thats holding him back from it. if he cant see you in his future you need to leave and find yourself a man that can. he obviously doesnt want that kind of commitment. you arnt being stupid, 5 years is a long time to be in a relationship, and you are already living together.. not much else would change if you did get married so why isnt he making that commitment? becuase he doesnt know if he wants to be with you for the rest of his life. i say talk to him about it again. dont come out and say will you marry me, but ask him where you see your relationship a year from now, or two years from now. and if it is in the same spot then i think you should leave. beiung in a relationship and going nowhere isnt going to get you your prince. and loving someone that deeply and not having someone that loves you the same back isnt worth it. |
