The woman of my dreams and I are getting divorced, I don't want to completely lose her what should I do?

I really would at least like to keep her as a friend and maybe someday when I fully get my s#@t together we could be closer. I know that we will never be married again (at least i'm 99% sure) but I can't bear the thought of her not being in my life in at least some capacity. Does this make me look pathetic?

no u are not pathetic at all u value the love u had for he and the time u spent together however to at least keep her in ur life i think u should make the divorce process as easy as possible on her and let her know that u do care for her very much and u will work hard on making yourself better u understand that she needs to go now but u want her to be in ur life even as just a friend that u can talk to and that no matter what happens u will be there if she needs help or anything in life.
that should make her at least keep u in her life till u really can make some change
i wish u best of luck on that

No you're not pathetic. We all get attached to people especially people who have been part of our lives for a long time. Just go up to her and say:

Lets not have a nasty divorce. Lets make things as respectable as possible. Look I know marriage-wise it did not work out but do you think we could be friends in the future?

Just talk to her. Tell her how you feel. Sometimes in friendships and relationships you have to be vulnerable, that's what you have to do in order to be close to someone. Sometimes you might be rejected and other times the other person will be vulnerable too and let you know their feelings as well. Take the chance and find out.

no you dont look pathetic. you love her, that is completely understandable. i think you should try and talk to her, tell her how you feel. that you dont want to loose her as a friend and you respect the fact that you can no longer be her lover but you want some kind of relationship with her if its possible. never say never...if you get your s**t together who knows what will happen?

No, definitely not pathetic. If you really love her and she loves you, you two should just separate for now and try marriage counseling. It really works wonders. Just always be open and honest with her, and let her do the same. You absolutely have to get to the root of your problems and try to work them out together. There are a lot of REALLY good books out there that help with communication and such. I can tell that you love her. It's really sad that you two can't be together for whatever reason, but if you keep having a defeated attitude toward this than you never will get her back. You have to remain optimistic about it. If you really give it your utmost best effort she'll see it and appreciate it, and maybe it'll inspire her to do the same. When two people love each other there's no reason they shouldn't be able to work through the storms. The storms are what makes the sun shine the brightest.

Have you exhausted all your resources? Like COUNSELING....What indications tells you both that it's over? When & how did your $hit get separated???

no it 2
When it gets to the point where either the both of you want out or one of you wants out it is to late. If you have not gotten your act together by now chances are you may never get it done. Time to grow up and smell the rose

Nope, not pathetic, talk to her and see if you two can work something out as far as being friends still, me and one of my ex boyfriends stayed good friends and now I am happily engaged to the most wonderful man I have ever met and he has a girlfriend and we are good friends still and I plan on always staying friends with him

just prove to her that you love her. do something special.

Try getting your $hit together now. What's the hold up Man?

You just going to let the Lady of your dreams walk away and you talk friends Dude! If she's the Lady of your dreams, isn't she worth a little getting it together or do you just excuse yourself with little dumb reasons, or maybe you just don't know what you should be like. Was it ever demonstrated to you by a male figure?

A good neutral councilor could work wonders for the two of you. Tell your dream Lady how you feel without any expectations other than sticking your neck out and coming honest and clean with her about your feelings.

You might be amazed at where that little bit alone might go.

Wanting the best for both of you Man

Me! :- )

Unfortunately, yes, it does. I take it she is leaving you? Since if you so desperately want her around, you wouldn't be leaving her. If she's leaving you, having you follow her around is not going to endear you to her. She's leaving for a reason, and your trying to rekindle things will likely only annoy or anger her and drive her off even faster. I'm sorry; it's hard to hear, I know. My husband left and there was nothing I could do, either. Now I look back and realize that I'm honestly better off, though it makes me very sad to think that.

I think you should write what you just said here and more and give her the letter or just tell her. we're not the people you should be talking to. you should be talking to her.
