There are so many happily married here. Does anyone know why the divorce rate is so high? The world needs YA?

Cause so many want to rush in to marriage and soon they have nothing in co-min, and one leads to another and there divorce, some times some people who want to have children cant really handle it and they divorce their husband/ or wife and leave, so really there are many possibilities to that question.

My Mum always says that people give up too easy nowadays, at the first sign of trouble we run. She said that her and Dad would be divorced ten times over if she were like people nowadays but she said things always worked themselves out in time. They have been married over 40 years and my Dad would be a hard man to put up with. Of course there are exceptions, some people probably shouldn't have got married in the first place and some relationships change to an extent that they can't be repaired. The divorce rate is higher because it was never an option to get divorced now it means nothing.

There are far more stressed married people out there than happy ones!
When my hubby asked for a divorce last year, I started asking other married couples how happy they were, and was surprised at how many were troubled that I had previously thought were OK.
Most of these couples were resigned to the fact that they just had to stick it out, for many different reasons. I am still with my husband, even though I told him I would not fight him on a divorce. It would make me sad, but I would go along with whatever he wanted.
We kept communication open, went to counseling, stayed reasonably polite with one another, and a year later we are still together trying to figure things out. Marriage is much harder than anything else I have ever done.
The divorce rate is high because society makes it too easy. If our society decided to help couples stay together better, then divorce rates would dwindle. Things such as more counseling before a marriage license was issued would be a good start for reform.

Well my wife cheated on me and I was faithful, so.. I wouldnt say it's the other woman. But I think it's really sad how no one keeps their vows. I think people should just quit getting married altogether.

These marriage freaks on here like to say that divorce is too easy.......well I say marriage is too easy!

Hell, at least when you get a drivers license they make you take a test.

They should make the marriage process more like the citizenship process, slow and painful. Which those two words pretty much describe most of the marriages I've seen.

Because the unhappy couples really outnumber the happy ones so divorce being the easy way out raises the number of failed marriages. Maybe someday these numbers will change around again but not anytime soon

the institution of marriage is under attack. every thing god has ordained is being persecuted and put to the test. people are also very impressionable. they hear about the fruitless marriages, the soaring divorce rates, hear about casual infidelity, see the things satan presents to them as viable alternatives to living a godly life, and next thing you know they are pondering it, toying w/ it, and living that way themselves

you must be wise and responsible, true to your word (vows) to make a marriage work. marriage takes work and commitment as does anything worth having in life

people settle for the wrong person before even learning to know themselves. they start a family before they become independant.

I see alot of "kids" for lack of a better term, deciding to get married at like 16 and say its "love" but its just lust and puppy love.
